Identification of inhibitors of the Salmonella FraB deglycase, a drug target
A high‐throughput screen was used to identify inhibitors of Salmonella FraB, a drug target. Characterization of top hits (identified after an additional counter screen) revealed that some triazolidines, thiadiazolidines, and triazolothiadiazoles are mixed‐type inhibitors of FraB.

Forest bat population dynamics over 14 years at a climate refuge: Effects of timber harvesting and weather extremes. [PDF]
Long-term data are needed to explore the interaction of weather extremes with habitat alteration; in particular, can 'refugia' buffer population dynamics against climate change and are they robust to disturbances such as timber harvesting. Because forest

On the Concept of Law in Physics [PDF]
I discuss the main features of the concept of law in physics. Fundamental laws from Newtonian mechanics to general relativity are reviewed. I end with an outlook on the new form of laws in the emerging theory of quantum gravity.

Abstract Purpose This study compares the dosimetric accuracy of deep‐learning‐based MR synthetic CT (sCT) in brain radiotherapy between the Analytical Anisotropic Algorithm (AAA) and AcurosXB (AXB). Additionally, it proposes a novel metric to predict the dosimetric accuracy of sCT for individual post‐surgical brain cases.

From Kepler's laws to Newton's law: a didactical proof [PDF]
An elementary derivation of the Newton "inverse square law" from the three Kepler laws is proposed. Our proof, thought essentially for first-year undergraduates, basically rests on Euclidean geometry. It could then be offered even to high-school students possessing only the first basics of Calculus.

Mitochondrial DNA disorders in neuromuscular diseases in diverse populations
Abstract Neuromuscular features are common in mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) disorders. The genetic architecture of mtDNA disorders in diverse populations is poorly understood. We analysed mtDNA variants from whole‐exome sequencing data in neuromuscular patients from South Africa, Brazil, India, Turkey and Zambia. In 998 individuals, there were two definite
