Modified Holographic Dark Energy in Non-flat Kaluza-Klein Universe with Varying G [PDF]

open access: yesEurop. Phys. J. C 72(2012)1901, 2012
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the evolution of modified holographic dark energy with variable $G$ in non-flat Kaluza$-$Klein universe. A note on the Harris-Kesten Theorem [PDF]

open access: yesEurop. J. Combin. 28 (2007), 1720-1723., 2005
Recently, a short proof of the Harris-Kesten result that the critical probability for bond percolation in the planar square lattice is 1/2 was given, using a sharp threshold result of Friedgut and Kalai. Here we point out that a key part of this proof may be replaced by an argument of Russo from 1982, using his approximate zero-one law in place of the ...

STAT3 expression is reduced in cardiac pericytes in HFpEF and its loss reduces cellular adhesion and induces pericyte senescence

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) accounts for half of the heart failure cases. It is characterised by microvascular dysfunction, associated with reduced pericyte coverage and diminished STAT3 expression in pericytes. Loss of STAT3 impairs pericyte adhesion, promotes senescence, and activates a pro‐fibrotic gene program.
