Experimental Analysis of the Nb(C,N) Pinning Effects on Austenite Grain Growth Coupled with Mean‐Field Simulations

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Refining austenite is key to preventing surface cracks during continuous casting of. This study combines in situ high‐temperature confocal microscopy with mean‐field simulations to model grain size evolution, highlighting the grain‐refining effect of niobium carbonitride precipitates on the austenitic microstructure.

Top‐Level Electromagnetic Design of Multishell Resonant Cavity for Microspherical Microwave Structural Absorbers

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
A top‐level design for broadband absorbers is proposed, combining multilayer structures with micro/nanomorphology regulation. Using electromagnetic simulations, controlled fabrication, and numerical analysis, tunable microwave absorption materials are created.

Structural behavior of deteriorated Gerber half‐joints in highway overpasses by nonlinear finite element analysis combined with a simplified uniform‐corrosion model

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract Gerber half‐joints, broadly used in the last century as elements of concrete bridges, are prone to corrosion‐induced deterioration, which may lead to brittle shear collapse. It is of paramount importance to develop advanced numerical models for simulating the collapse behavior of Gerber half‐joints, taking material deterioration into account ...

An unsupervised learning approach to predict the deterioration of aging bridges using inspection data

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract A common approach for developing degradation models for aging bridges involves fitting a stochastic process, such as a Markov or semi‐Markov chain, to condition data collected from visual inspections and stored within Bridge Management Systems.
