Layer-by-layer (LbL) polyelectrolyte membrane with Nexar™ polymer as a polyanion for pervaporation dehydration of ethanol

Separation and Purification Technology, 2015
Abstract Novel LbL polyelectrolyte multilayer membrane (PEMM) with Nexar™ polymer, a sulfonated pentablock copolymer, as the polyanion on a hydrolyzed polyacrylonitrile (PAN) hollow fiber substrate has been developed for pervaporation dehydration of ethanol. The advantages of applying the sulfonated copolymer as the polyanion are that the required bi-

Optical properties of annealed Si:H thin film prepared by layer-by-layer (LBL) deposition technique

Physica B: Condensed Matter, 2010
Abstract Optical studies were performed on annealed hydrogenated silicon (Si:H) thin films deposited by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) using the layer-by-layer (LBL) deposition technique. The films were annealed for 1 h at temperatures of 400, 600, 800 and 1000 °C in ambient nitrogen.

Preparation of ultrathin, robust membranes through reactive layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly for pervaporation dehydration

Journal of Membrane Science, 2017
Abstract Fabricating ultrathin membranes with high separation performance and stability remains a great challenge. Tannic acid (TA) is a bio-based polyphenol and can form multifunctional coatings through catechol chemistry. In this study, polyethyleneimine (PEI) and TA were alternatively deposited on hydrolyzed polyacrylonitrile (HPAN) porous ...

Geo-material surface modification of microchips using layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly for subsurface energy and environmental applications

Lab on a Chip, 2018
A key constraint in the application of microfluidic technology to subsurface flow and transport processes is the surface discrepancy between microchips and the actual rocks/soils.
