Review of Thin Lithium Metal Battery Anode Fabrication – Microstructure – Electrochemistry Relations

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Thin, lightweight lithium‐metal anodes are pivotal for practical high‐energy batteries. This review surveys processing routes that convert diverse Li precursors, e.g., ingots, melts, solutions, and vapor, into Li‐rich foils with controlled thickness, areal density, and tailored functionality.

Turbulent convection by thermoelectricity in a cooling-heating didactive device

open access: yesТруды Института системного программирования РАН, 2018
Local Diffusion and the topological structure of vorticity and velocity fields is measured in the transition from a homogeneous linearly stratified fluid to a cellular or layered structure by means of convective cooling and/or heating.

Hydrogel Thermostat Inspired by Photoprotective Foliage Using Latent and Radiative Heat Control

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Guided by Populus alba foliage, this hydrogel latent‐radiative thermostat (LRT) actively balances latent and radiative heat fluxes. An LRT switches solar reflectance, maintains high mid‐IR emissivity, and reversibly evaporates/regenerates water, while titanium oxide (TiO2) nanoparticles toughen the film.

A deeper understanding of white dwarf interiors

open access: yes, 2005
A detailed record of the physical processes that operate during post-main-sequence evolution is contained in the internal chemical structure of white dwarfs. Global pulsations allow us to probe the stellar interior through asteroseismology, revealing the

A Solid State Zwitterionic Plastic Crystal With High Static Dielectric Constant

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Developing solid high dielectric constant materials has been a research focus in the energy storage field. In this research, we discovered a zwitterion with a plastic crystal phase. Due to the short‐range degree of freedom of the dipole moment for this zwitterion, a relatively high static dielectric constant has been achieved in its solid state ...

Multiphysics‐Driven Assembly of Biomimetic Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Artificial extracellular vesicles, derived from cell membranes, are manufactured using a multiphysics‐integrated microfluidic platform that combines nanoknife membrane rupture, herringbone chaotic mixing, and acoustothermal modulation. This standardizable workflow enables the predictable control of vesicle formation and therapeutic loading, while ...

Buoyancy Profile Inhibition of Turbulence in Nearly Vertical Bubbly Shear Flow

open access: yesNUST Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2008
We report mea.sUICJD.CD.ts of two-dimensional (B/D::S) fully tw:bulent and developed duct flows (overall length/depth. IlD=60; D-based Reynolds number Re>104) for inclinations to 30 degrees from vertical at low voidagcs (

Magnetic helicity fluxes in interface and flux transport dynamos

open access: yes, 2010
Dynamos in the Sun and other bodies tend to produce magnetic fields that possess magnetic helicity of opposite sign at large and small scales, respectively. The build-up of magnetic helicity at small scales provides an important saturation mechanism.
