Salt fingers and convecting layers
Deep Sea Research and Oceanographic Abstracts, 1969Abstract It is shown that convective ‘fingers’ can form not only in the salt-heat system, but also in a fluid containing two solutes with much closer diffusivities (for example sugar above a salt solution). This experimental device is used to explore various phenomena which cannot easily be produced in the laboratory with salt and heat.

Fluctuating free convection boundary layers
Acta Physica Academiae Scientiarum Hungaricae, 1976The free convection flow along a horizontal plate whose temperature oscillates about a non-zero mean is analysed. The basic flow is purely buoyancy induced while the oscillation in the plate temperature causes a time dependent boundary layer flow and heat transfer. Two separate solutions valid for high and low frequency ranges are developed.
