Fast‐Responding O2 Gas Sensor Based on Luminescent Europium Metal‐Organic Frameworks (MOF‐76)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Luminescent MOF‐76 materials based on Eu(III) and mixed Eu(III)/Y(III) show rapid and reversible changes in emission intensity in response to O2 with very short response times. The effect is based on triplet quenching of the linker ligands that act as photosensitizers. Average emission lifetimes of a few milliseconds turn out to be mostly unaffected by

Temperature and electric field distribution of tri‐post insulator in DC‐GIL based on numerical multiphysics modelling

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2023
The temperature distribution of the tri‐post insulator in a ±500 kV direct current gas‐insulated transmission lines (DC‐GIL) is investigated. The influence of thermal gradient on the electric field characteristics is investigated as well.

Linear Model for Two-Layer Porous Bed Suspended with Nano Sized Particles

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
Two immiscible fluids flows are materialized in science and technology; the combined convection of the two immiscible fluids in a square conduit is reviewed in this study.

Symmetry and plate-like convection in fluids with temperature-dependent viscosity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We explore the instabilities developed in a fluid in which viscosity depends on temperature. In particular, we consider a dependency that models a very viscous (and thus rather rigid) lithosphere over a convecting mantle.

Continuous‐Flow Photocatalytic Degradation of Glyphosate and Aminomethylphosphonic Acid Under Simulated Sunlight with TiO2‐Coated Poly(vinylidene fluoride) Membrane

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Glyphosate (GLY) and its primary metabolite, aminomethylphosphonic acid (AMPA), are photodegraded using a poly(vinylidene fluoride) membrane with immobilized titanium dioxide (PVDF‐TiO2) in a continuous flow‐through operation under solar light. At optimized conditions, the PVDF‐TiO2 membrane achieved 95% GLY and 80% AMPA removal with •O2− as the ...

Estimating seasonal variations in cloud droplet number concentration over the boreal forest from satellite observations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Seasonal variations in cloud droplet number concentration (NCD) in low-level stratiform clouds over the boreal forest are estimated from MODIS observations of cloud optical and microphysical properties, using a sub-adiabatic cloud model to interpret ...

Cool Kitchen: Processing Starch and Eggshell Powder into Sustainable Coatings for Passive Daytime Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A food‐grade cooling composite made from starch and recycled eggshell powder offers a scalable, ultra‐low‐cost solution for passive daytime radiative cooling. Easily prepared using basic kitchen tools, this material empowers communities, even in areas with limited infrastructure, to stay cooler during worsening summer heat waves.

Solute Transport across the Lymphatic Vasculature in a Soft Skin Tissue

open access: yesBiology, 2023
Convective transport of drug solutes in biological tissues is regulated by the interstitial fluid pressure, which plays a crucial role in drug absorption into the lymphatic system through the subcutaneous (SC) injection.

Ordering kinetics of stripe patterns

open access: yes, 2001
We study domain coarsening of two dimensional stripe patterns by numerically solving the Swift-Hohenberg model of Rayleigh-Benard convection. Near the bifurcation threshold, the evolution of disordered configurations is dominated by grain boundary motion
