Spin glass states in multicomponent layered perovskites

open access: yesScientific Reports
AbstractTemperature-dependent dc-magnetization and ac-susceptibility curves have been recorded for series of single and double layered Ruddlesden-Popper multicomponent perovskites with chemical formula A2BO4 and A3B2O7, respectively, with (La, Sr) on A-sites and up to 7 different cations on the B-sites (Ti, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu). The phase purity and

From Behavior to Dynamics: Decoding Carrier Roles in Cu‐based Photocathodes for Solar‐Driven CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The performance of Cu‐based photocathodes in photoelectrochemical CO2 reduction is not governed by catalytic sites alone, but by the dynamic journey of photogenerated carriers. This review decodes how carrier generation, recombination, transport, accumulation, extraction, and electrolyte coupling shape catalytic activity, selectivity, and stability ...

Photocatalytic Water Splitting on the Lunar Surface: Prospects for In Situ Resource Utilization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Water has been found in craters on the moon nearby locations which are illuminated >80% of the time. Photocatalysis uses energy from sunlight to drive chemical reactions such as water splitting to produce oxygen and hydrogen. It is a scalable technology that requires lighter equipment and utilizes resources available on the moon. ABSTRACT The discovery

Atomic Layer Deposition of Metallic Molybdenum Dioxide Thin Films Enabling High‐k Rutile Capacitors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The first direct atomic layer deposition (ALD) process of molybdenum dioxide (MoO2) thin films is reported using molybdenum(II) acetate dimer (Mo2(OAc)4) and oxygen (O2) as precursors at 235°C–275°C. The films are crystalline, exceptionally pure, and conductive.
