A Novel, Simple and Highly Efficient Route to Obtain PrBaMn2O5+δ Double Perovskite: Mechanochemical Synthesis

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
In this work, a mechanochemical route was proposed for the synthesis of the PrBaMn2O5+δ (PMBO) double layered perovskite phase. The mechanochemical reaction between Pr6O11, BaO2, and MnO powders with cationic stoichiometric ratios of 1/1/2 for Pr/Ba/Mn ...

Multiferroic BiFeO3-BiMnO3 Nanocheckerboard From First Principles

open access: yes, 2010
We present a first principles study of an unusual heterostructure, an atomic-scale checkerboard of BiFeO3-BiMnO3, and compare its properties to the two bulk constituent materials, BiFeO3 and BiMnO3.

The formation of boundary clinopyroxenes and associated glass veins in type B1 CAIs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We used focused ion beam thin section preparation and scanning transmission electron microscopy (FIB/STEM) to examine the interfacial region between spinel and host melilite for spinel grains in type B1 inclusions from the Allende and Leoville ...

Seven-Layered 2D Hybrid Lead Iodide Perovskites [PDF]

open access: yesChem, 2019
Two-dimensional hybrid halide perovskites offer high chemical versatility, strong potential in optoelectronics. Here, we report the highest layer thickness perovskites yet to be crystallographically characterized, for the Dion-Jacobson (DJ) family. The seven-layered DJ phase (4AMP)(MA) 6Pb 7I 22 (4AMP =4-aminomethylpyperidinium) shows less distortion ...

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

Soft chemical control of the crystal and magnetic structure of a layered mixed valent manganite oxide sulfide

open access: yesAPL Materials, 2015
Oxidative deintercalation of copper ions from the sulfide layers of the layered mixed-valent manganite oxide sulfide Sr2MnO2Cu1.5S2 results in control of the copper-vacancy modulated superstructure and the ordered arrangement of magnetic moments carried ...

Exciton Binding Energy Modulation in 2D Perovskites: A Phenomenological Keldysh Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The intrinsic screening effects are successfully decoupled from structural distortion by rigorously designing a series of 2D perovskites. This enabled us to demonstrate how the dielectric environment modulates the quasiparticle bandgap and exciton binding energy.
