Non Linear Optics in Zirconium Phosphate Layered Phases

Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Science and Technology. Section A. Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 1998
Abstract The stilbazolium chromophore 4-[4-(dimethylamino)-α-styryl]-1-methylpyridinium (DAMS) ion can be exchanged with the α and γ forms of 7, irconium phosphate to give single phase materials of interlayer distance 16.5 and 16.4 A respectively. The latter has a second harmonic generation efficiency, measured at 1.9 μm, equal to that of urea, whilst ...

Chromatographic behaviour of inorganic ions on crystalline titanium phosphate or zirconium phosphate thin layers

Journal of Chromatography A, 1967
Abstract The chromatographic behaviour of alkali metal ions, alkaline earths and Tl(I) on crystalline and amorphous zirconium phosphate and titanium phosphate thin layers has been examined. Large differences in the ion exchange properties of amorphous and crystalline materials were found.

α-Zirconium phosphate-based nanoarchitectures on polyester fabrics through layer-by-layer assembly

Journal of Materials Chemistry, 2011
α-Zirconium phosphate nanoplatelets have been alternatively combined with a cationic polyelectrolyte (polydiallyldimethylammonium chloride), a polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane or with alumina-coated silica nanoparticles, exploiting the layer-by-layer deposition.

Intercalation and Thermal Decomposition of Urea in Layered Zirconium Phosphates of α- and γ-Type

Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Science and Technology. Section A. Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 1998
The intercalation of urea in α- and γ- zirconium phosphates was achieved by equilibrating the propanolic form of the two layered hosts with saturated aqueous solutions of urea at room temperature. C, N and H elemental analysis and thermogravimetric determination of α- and γ- intercalates, conditioned at room temperature and 75% relative humidity, give ...

Intercalation and Photophysical Characterization of 1-Pyrenemethylamine in Zirconium Phosphate Layered Materials

Langmuir, 2004
The ion exchange of the luminescent probe 1-pyrenemethylamine (PYMA) into zirconium phosphate (ZrP) layered materials has been accomplished. The matrices used were the hexahydrated 10.3 A phase of ZrP (10.3 A ZrP, where 10.3 A represents the interlayer distance) and butylammonium-exchanged ZrP (BAZrP) with an expanded 18.6 A interlayer distance.

Layered Inorganic Materials as Redox Agents:  Ferrocenium-Intercalated Zirconium Phosphate

Langmuir, 2007
The direct intercalation reaction of ferrocene (bis(eta5-cyclopentadienyl)iron(II), Fc) with a highly hydrated layered zirconium phosphate (ZrP) resulted in the formation of the ferrocenium ion (Fc+) within the ZrP material. The Fc+-intercalated ZrP material has an interlayer distance of 10.7 A.

Ionothermal Synthesis of Layered Zirconium Phosphates and Their Tribological Properties in Mineral Oil

Inorganic Chemistry, 2010
In an attempt to synthesize novel zirconium phosphate materials, a series of syntheses have been performed in a deep eutectic solvent (DES), composed of tetrapropylammonium bromide (TPABr) and oxalic acid. As a result, this DES does not act as a template provider in reaction probably owing to the steric effects of the longer chains of the TPA cation ...

Polyaniline/Layered Zirconium Phosphate Nanocomposites: Secondary-Like Doped Polyaniline Obtained by the Layer-by-Layer Technique

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2008
In the present work, nanocomposites of polyaniline (PANI) and layered α-Zr(HPO4)2˙H2O (α-ZrP) were prepared using two different approaches: (i) the in situ aniline polymerization in the presence of the layered inorganic material and (ii) the layer-by-layer (LBL) assembly using an aqueous solution of the polycation emeraldine salt (ES-PANI) and a ...
