Layer by Layer

2010
The porous structure of Fig. 6.6 was produced by 3D printing. Shape and pore size were computationally designed. The printer deposited a layer of molten polysulfonamide (PSA) followed by deposition of a wax layer and this printing is repeated until the required scaffold size is obtained.

Selective Layer Reaction of Layer-by-Layer Assembled Layered Double-Hydroxide Nanocrystals

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2007
The layer-by-layer assembly of layered double-hydroxide (LDH) nanocrystals was successfully accomplished by surface grafting using organic acids as coupling agents.

A Layer-by-Layer Amplifier

Science, 2012
Materials Science![Figure][1] CREDIT: FANG ET AL., J. MATER. CHEM. 22 , 1305 (2012) A number of biological specimens, such as butterfly wings or diatom frustules, have been used as templates for making optical, catalytic, or electrical materials.

Layers over Layer-by-Layer Assemblies: Silanization of Polyelectrolyte Multilayers

Langmuir, 2014
The functionalization of poly(allylamine hydrochloride)/poly(acrylic acid) (PAH/PAA) polyelectrolyte multilayers by silanes reacted from the gas phase is studied depending on reaction time and temperature, pH of multilayer assembly, and nature of the reacting silane group.

Build a plot layer by layer

2009
One of the key ideas behind ggplot2 is that it allows you to easily iterate, building up a complex plot a layer at a time. Each layer can come from a different dataset and have a different aesthetic mapping, making it possible to create sophisticated plots that display data from multiple sources.

Layer after Layer

2021
When the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew in South London were opened to the general public in the 1840s, they were presented as a ‘world text’: a collection of flora from all over the world, with the spectacular tropical (read: colonial) specimens taking centre stage as indexes of Britain’s imperial supremacy.

Electroreductive Coupling Layer-by-Layer Assembly

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2017
Rapid and covalent layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly is of significance for practical applications because of superior chemical and mechanical stability. The electrochemical LbL assembly via an accelerating trigger can be automated and programmable in response to electrical signals to in situ fabricate covalently layered thin films with chemical and ...

Layer by layer deposition

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 1994
Abstract A layer by layer deposition model based on the assumption that each layer is formed via instantaneous conversion of sites into nuclei is analysed. The statistical procedure for taking into account the overlap of growth centres at any given level is described.
