Segue: Overviewing Evolution Patterns of Egocentric Networks by Interactive Construction of Spatial Layouts

open access: yes, 2018
Getting the overall picture of how a large number of ego-networks evolve is a common yet challenging task. Existing techniques often require analysts to inspect the evolution patterns of ego-networks one after another.

On Linear Layouts of Graphs [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2004
In a total order of the vertices of a graph, two edges with no endpoint in common can be crossing, nested, or disjoint. A k-stack (respectively, k-queue, k-arch) layout of a graph consists of a total order of the vertices, and a partition of the

Evaluation of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Based on Different Cutting Tool Layouts in the Cutter-Head [PDF]

open access: yesAnalytical and Numerical Methods in Mining Engineering
The arrangement and layout of cutting tools in the cutter head are among the most critical factors affecting the performance of the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM).

A holistic approach for the optimization of offshore wind farm layouts considering cable layouts [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2019
A wind farm, mainly, is composed of a set of turbines, one or more transmitters and a set of electrical cable connections between turbines and transmitters.

Minimizing Crossings in Constrained Two-Sided Circular Graph Layouts

open access: yes, 2018
Circular layouts are a popular graph drawing style, where vertices are placed on a circle and edges are drawn as straight chords. Crossing minimization in circular layouts is \NP-hard.

Interface Design of Head-Worn Display Application on Condition Monitoring in Aviation

open access: yesSensors, 2023
Head-worn displays (HWDs) as timely condition monitoring are increasingly used in aviation. However, interface design characteristics that mainly affect HWD use have not been fully investigated. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of several

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

A Systematic Comparison of Alpha‐Synuclein Seed Amplification Assays for Increasing Reproducibility

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Seed amplification assays (SAAs) enable ultrasensitive detection of misfolded α‐synuclein across biofluids and tissues. Yet, heterogeneity in protocols limits cross‐study comparability and clinical translation. Here, we review α‐synuclein SAA methods and their performance across various biological matrices.

The Impact of High‐Productivity Processing on the Fatigue Failure of an Additive Manufactured Superalloy HAYNES 282

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The low cycle fatigue life of additive manufactured HAYNES® 282® superalloy was investigated for conventional and high‐productivity processing: samples of the former lasted 1400–1700 cycles, while samples of the latter failed at ~ 1200 cycles, at 760 °C and 1% strain.
