Lessons, narratives, and research directions for a sustainable circular economy

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Ecology, Volume 27, Issue 1, Page 6-18, February 2023., 2023
Abstract The current enthusiasm for the circular economy (CE) offers a unique opportunity to advance the impact of research on sustainability transitions. Diverse interpretations of CE by scholars, however, produce partly opposing assessments of its potential benefits, which can hinder progress.

Child language brokering as a family care practice: Reframing the ‘parentified child’ debate

open access: yesChildren &Society, Volume 36, Issue 3, Page 400-414, May 2022., 2022
Abstract This paper explores the perspectives of 29 child language brokers living in the UK who interpret for their family following migration. They were presented with vignette stories depicting a potentially conflictual situation between a language broker, a parent and an adult ‘other’ in a position of power or authority.

Revisiting marital health protection: Intraindividual health dynamics around transition to legal marriage

open access: yesJournal of Marriage and Family, Volume 83, Issue 5, Page 1439-1459, October 2021., 2021
Abstract Objective This study analyzes the dynamics of health associated with the transition to first marriage and remaining in marriage up to 24 years in order to estimate the protective effect of heterosexual marriage (compared to being never married, including the unpartnered, partnered, and cohabiting) on physical, mental, and self‐rated health ...

Robust finite-time stability of uncertain neutral nonhomogeneous fractional-order systems with time-varying delays

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics, 2020
This article addresses the problem of finite-time stability for uncertain neutral nonhomogeneous fractional-order systems with time-varying delays where a stability test procedure is suggested.

Adequacy of care provision in long‐term home nursing arrangements: A triangulation of three perspectives

open access: yesNursing Open, Volume 7, Issue 5, Page 1634-1642, September 2020., 2020
Abstract Background A growing proportion of older people in Germany receive long‐term care from informal and professional caregivers at home. Their personal assessment of the individual care situation is scarcely considered. Aim This study aimed to explore the subjective views of care recipients, informal and professional caregivers on the adequacy of ...

Finite‐Time Stability of Fractional‐Order Time‐Varying Delays Gene Regulatory Networks with Structured Uncertainties and Controllers

open access: yesComplexity, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
In this paper, we investigate a class of fractional‐order time‐varying delays gene regulatory networks with structured uncertainties and controllers (DFGRNs). Our contributions lie in three aspects: first, a necessary and sufficient condition on the existence of the solution for the DFGRNs is given by using the properties of the Riemann–Liouville ...

Corrigendum to “Inequalities for generalized derivations of operator monotone functions in norm ideals of compact operators” [Linear Algebra Appl. 586 (2020) 43–63]

open access: yes, 2020
In this corrigendum note we provide a correct statement and a proof of [3, Th. 2.1] parts (a4′), (a4″), (b4′), (b4″), as well as a correct statement and a proof for the inequality (34) in [3, Cor. 2.3] .

A NOVEL FINITE TIME STABILITY ANALYSIS OF A CLASS NONLINEAR FRACTIONAL ORDER MULTI-STATE TIME DELAY SYSTEMS: A NEW GRONWALL – BELLMAN INEQUALITY APPROACH

open access: yesProceedings
In this contribution, the finite-time stability analysis (FTS) for a class of nonlinear two=term fractional-order multi-state time delay systems (FOTDS) is studied.

Finite-Time Stability of a Class of Nonstationary Nonlinear Fractional Order Time Delay Systems: New Gronwall–Bellman Inequality Approach

open access: yesMathematics
This paper aims to analyze finite-time stability (FTS) for a class of nonstationary nonlinear two-term fractional-order time-delay systems with α,β ∈ (0,2). Using a new type of generalized Gronwall–Bellman inequality, we derive new FTS stability criteria
