Optical Production of Stable Ultracold $^{88}$Sr$_2$ Molecules

open access: yes, 2012
We have produced large samples of ultracold $^{88}$Sr$_2$ molecules in the electronic ground state in an optical lattice. The molecules are bound by 0.05 cm$^{-1}$ and are stable for several milliseconds. The fast, all-optical method of molecule creation

Evaluation of systemic consequences of brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome in dogs

open access: yesVeterinary Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS) results from upper airway anatomical abnormalities and may cause systemic effects depending on severity. Methods A prospective, case‒control and observational study was conducted.

PSHead: 3D Head Reconstruction from a Single Image with Diffusion Prior and Self‐Enhancement

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
We introduce PSHead, a coarse‐to‐fine framework guided by both object and face priors, to produce a Gaussian‐based 3D avatar for a single frontal‐view reference image. In the coarse stage, we create an initial 3D representation by applying diffusion models trained for general object generation, using Score Distillation Sampling losses over novel views.

Application of the Simulation Based Reliability Analysis on the LBB methodology [PDF]

open access: yesApplied and Computational Mechanics, 2008
Guidelines on how to demonstrate the existence of Leak Before Break (LBB) have been developed in many western countries. These guidelines, partly based on NUREG/CR-6765, define the steps that should be fulfilled to get a conservative assessment of LBB ...

Influence of the nature of confinement on the melting of Wigner molecules in quantum dots

open access: yes, 2015
We analyze the quantum melting of two-dimensional Wigner molecules (WM) in confined geometries with distinct symmetries and compare it with corresponding thermal melting.

From plant to fabric: Environmental opportunities associated with annatto dye for sustainable development in the textile industry

open access: yesColoration Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Natural dyes are compounds that occur naturally in several organisms and are classified based on chemical structure and application method. The literature cites several natural dyes used in industrial transformation processes. Annatto dye is used in the food industry, and its biological pigment is extracted from the annatto seed. However, this

Stock Assessment of Six Sciaenidae Species in the Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh Water Using a Length-Based Bayesian Biomass (LBB) Method

open access: yesFishes, 2022
Six most abundant and commercially valuable croakers (Sciaenidae) stocks in the coastal water of Bangladesh were evaluated using a length-based Bayesian Biomass (LBB) approach.

Tests and Analyses to Study Monotonic and Cyclic Fracture Behavior of C‐Mn Steel

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The present study is aimed at experiments/analyses on monotonic and cyclic fracture behavior of C‐Mn steel at temperatures (T) varying from 28°C to 300°C. The fracture tests have been performed on standard compact tension specimens under different crack mouth opening displacement (CMOD) rates and load ratios (R: 0, −0.5, and −1) in a dynamic ...

Flow of the Bingham-Papanastasiou Regularized Material in a Channel in the Presence of Obstacles: Correlation between Hydrodynamic Forces and Spacing of Obstacles

open access: yesModelling and Simulation in Engineering, 2021
The numerical modeling and simulation for the stationary Bingham fluid flow around two confined circular cylinders with various gap ratios are studied. The singularity in the model’s apparent viscosity is dealt by Papanastasiou’s regularization.

Pacing Ratio Changes of an Implanted Permanent Pacemaker After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation

open access: yesPacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background In some patients, transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is associated with conduction disturbances, necessitating permanent pacemaker implantation (PMI). The clinical course of conduction disturbances after PMI, based on the type of TAVI valve, remains unclear.
