Polarized neutron powder diffraction is used to qualitatively probe the magnetocrystalline anisotropy of cobalt‐doped ferrite nanoparticles. The analysis of local magnetic susceptibility tensors and magnetization ellipsoids reveals how cobalt incorporation modifies both the magnitude and orientation of anisotropy, providing a new approach to compare ...

Lime Pretreatment of Miscanthus: Impact on BMP and Batch Dry Co-Digestion with Cattle Manure
In Europe, the agricultural biogas sector is currently undergoing fast developments, and cattle manure constitutes an important feedstock. Batch dry digester processes with leachate recirculation prove to be particularly interesting for small-scale ...

Sustainable Livestock Decisions in a Post‐Conflict Frontier: Evidence From Colombia's Orinoquía
ABSTRACT The Orinoquía region is one of Colombia's principal agricultural frontiers and has been shaped by long‐standing armed‐conflict dynamics that continue to influence land governance, producer incentives, and investment decisions. Efforts to promote sustainable cattle production emphasize two key practices: sustainable pasture management ...

Phoenics: a novel statistical approach for longitudinal metabolomic pathway analysis
Background Metabolomics describes the metabolic profile of an organism at a given time by the concentrations of its constituent metabolites. When studied over time, metabolite concentrations can help understand the dynamical evolution of a biological ...

Data reconciliation in multi‐trait experiments with kinship ordination
Abstract A central aim in biology is understanding the heritability of traits and how trait interactions contribute to success in diverse environments. Experiments that record multiple traits from individuals of known pedigree or genetic relatedness in distinct environments are key to addressing this aim.

Complex interplay of evolutionary forces in the ladybird homeobox genes of Drosophila melanogaster. [PDF]
Tandemly arranged paralogous genes lbe and lbl are members of the Drosophila NK homeobox family. We analyzed population samples of Drosophila melanogaster from Africa, Europe, North and South America, and single strains of D. sechellia, D.

While providing potentially life‐saving cardiorespiratory support for critically ill patients, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) may detrimentally affect pharmacokinetic (PK) performance and concurrent drug efficacy and safety. We describe a patient with Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PJP) in the context of acquired immunodeficiency ...
