Adaptation of the invasive pest Drosophila suzukii to a specialized nutritional niche

Unlike most Drosophila larvae that feed on spoiled food, Drosophila suzukii larvae thrive on ripening fruits and consequently face a low‐protein, high‐carbohydrate nutritional challenge.
