Association between low-carbohydrate diet and chronic kidney disease in population with gestational diabetes mellitus history: based on the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey database

open access: yesFood & Nutrition Research
Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is one of the most common metabolic complications during pregnancy, and is associated with a significantly increased risk of postpartum chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Impact of a low‐carbohydrate diet on cardiometabolic parameters in individuals with and without diabetes: An 8‐year longitudinal study within the ELSA‐Brasil cohort

open access: yesNutrition in Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Low‐carbohydrate diets (LCDs) are widely adopted for metabolic management, but their long‐term cardiometabolic effects in diverse populations remain unclear. We aimed to evaluate the association between self‐selected moderate LCD adherence and cardiometabolic parameters in individuals with and without diabetes.

Accounting for animal movement during aerial imaging surveys

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
Animals are not stationary during aerial surveys; if their movements are related to the movement of the aerial platform, then bias can be introduced into subsequent population count estimates. We sought to establish a framework for assessing the impacts of animal movement on count error and platform bias by comparing aggregated counts and relative ...

Addressing Low E/S and N/P Ratio Challenges in Li–S Batteries with a Multifunctional Interlayer

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
With its multifunctional properties—effective shuttle effect inhibition and high ionic conductivity enabled by the sulfonic acid groups of PFSA, together with superior electrical conductivity from CNT and PEDOT:TCB for dead‐sulfur reactivation—the ultrathin and lightweight PCP interlayer enables outstanding Li–S battery performance under practical low ...

Development of a Novel Polyleucine‐Based Immunopotentiator for Subunit Vaccines Against Group A Streptococcus

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Self‐assembling amphiphilic peptide L15K6 is used as a novel immunoadjuvant for the development of a Group A Streptococcus vaccine. Robust antigen‐specific IgG responses are generated and manage to kill isolated strains of Group A Streptococcus. Cellular and bulk RNA sequencing data reveals that L15K6 regulates immune responses potentially through TLR ...

Intrinsic and Water‐Triggered Hydrophilicity in Tween 20‐PDMS Composites for Dynamic and Long‐Term Wettability Control

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A one‐step bulk integration of the surfactant Tween 20 into PDMS enables intrinsic and water‐triggered hydrophilicity. Combined molecular simulations and experiments reveal a dual mechanism where bound and mobile Tween 20 molecules cooperatively induce self‐activating, stretch‐tolerant, and long‐term wettability, supporting self‐driven liquid transport,

Gold@MnFe‐Prussian Blue Analog Yolk@Shell Nanoparticles for Light‐Triggered and pH‐Sensitive Drug Release

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Yolk@shell nanostructures have emerged as promising platforms for biomedical applications due to their unique architecture, which combines the high surface area and loading capacity of hollow nanoparticles with the structural stability and functional versatility of core@shell systems. In this work, we report the synthesis of multifunctional Au@

Prolapse recurrence, methods of reoperation, and long‐term mesh complications—A nationwide follow‐up study

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
Similar rates of women undergo re‐treatment for prolapse after surgery with native tissue and mesh, while subjective recurrence is common, and the site of reoperation varies depending on prior surgical treatment. Only a minority of mesh exposures requires surgical treatment.
