Adaptive current control for grid-connected converters with LCL-filter

2009 35th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2009
This paper presents a discrete-time adaptive current controller for grid-connected pulse width modulation voltage source converters with LCL filter. The main attribute of the proposed current controller is that, in steady state, the damping of the LCL resonance does not depend on the grid characteristic since the adaptive feedback gains ensure a ...

Resonance Interaction of Multiparallel Grid-Connected Inverters With LCL Filter

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2017
This letter investigates the resonance characteristics and stability problem caused by the interactions of multiparallel LCL-filtered inverters. Compared to single grid-connected inverter, the multiinverter system presents a more challenging resonance issue, where the inverter interactions may excite multiple resonances at various frequencies.

Resonance damping of LCL filter based grid-connected inverter

Proceedings of The 7th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference, 2012
Three-phase PWM inverters are connected to the grid by an LC or an LCL filter. Although an LCL filter is more effective since it more efficiently attenuates the switching harmonics, but it causes stability problems. To enable a stable operation, either a damping resistor or an active damping algorithm has to be used.

Feedback linearization control of photovoltaic inverter with LCL filter

Proceedings of The 7th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference, 2012
This paper presents a method to design a control system for grid-connected Photovoltaic (PV) inverter which has a LCL-type filter to suppress the output current total harmonic distortion (THD). The conventional approach to design the control system is in synchronous reference domain, which transforms the ac variables into dc quantities and thus ...

Grid impedance detection via excitation of LCL-filter resonance

Fourtieth IAS Annual Meeting. Conference Record of the 2005 Industry Applications Conference, 2005., 2005
Inverters adopted in distributed power generation, active filter and UPS are often connected to the grid through an LCL-fiIter. The impedance of the LCL-fiIter has a typical frequency spectrum with a resonance peak. Hence the LCL-fiIter has to be damped in order to avoid instability.

Weight minimization of LCL filters for high power converters

2015 9th International Conference on Power Electronics and ECCE Asia (ICPE-ECCE Asia), 2015
Weight reduction of the LCL filter is one of the main concerns for high power, grid connected, voltage source converters (VSC) where an LCL filter can weigh hundreds of kilograms. It is a multi-domain optimization issue to find the minimum weight of an LCL filter considering PWM, control, filter design, and magnetic components with given constraints ...

Backstepping control for active power filter with LCL filter

2nd IET Renewable Power Generation Conference (RPG 2013), 2013
Active power filters are widely applied in power system to deal with distorted currents caused by nonlinear loads. As the active power filter (APF) with LCL filter is a serious nonlinear system, conventional control methods cannot have satisfactory performances. A nonlinear control method, backstepping control for active power filter with LCL filter is

Grid-Connected VSI With $LCL$ Filter—Models and Comparison

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2014
There are several ways to model three-phase gridconnected voltage-source inverters (VSIs) with an $LCL$ filter. Such models often use simplifications like constant dc-link voltage or averaging over a switching period. These simplifications remove transistor switching and dc-link capacitor dynamics from the model.

LCL Filter Design Method for Grid-Connected PWM-VSC

Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology, 2017
In recent years, several LCL filter design methods for different converter topologies have been published, many of which use analytical expressions to calculate the ideal converter AC voltage harmonic spectrum. This paper presents the LCL filter design methodology but the focus is on presentation and validation of the non-iterative filter design method

Analysis of Grid-LCL filter interfaced PV-Array system

2016 IEEE 7th Power India International Conference (PIICON), 2016
This paper proposes strategies for regulating the grid current of a three-phase inverter connected to an electrical network through a LCL filter interfaced by a PV system. The focus of the analysis is to investigate the use of a PI controller or PR controller to regulate the grid current in the outer loop, when there is inner capacitor current ...
