Magnetic Integration of LCL Filters

2017
An LCL filter has two individual inductors. In order to reduce the volume of magnetic components, magnetic integration of these two inductors is introduced in this chapter. First, the integration method of the two inductors of an LCL filter is proposed, and the magnetic circuit model of integrated inductors is built.

A Modified Discontinuous PWM Method for Three-Level Inverters With the Improved LCL Filter

IEEE transactions on power electronics
The three-level inverter with improved LCL filter is employed in photovoltaic system to improve the power quality and suppress the leakage current. Nevertheless, this type of topology has the challenge of neutral point (NP) voltage balance, common mode ...

Enhanced Deadbeat Control-Model Predictive Control Strategy of Grid-Connected Power Converters With LCL Filter

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print)
The traditional deadbeat control-model predictive control (DBC-MPC) algorithm is often adopted to reduce the computational requirements. However, for the selection of the expected voltage vector for a grid-connected power converter with an inductor ...

A Robust Controller for a Grid-Tied Inverter Connected Through an LCL Filter

IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Industrial Electronics, 2021
This article presents a control strategy for three-phase inverters connected to grids through an LCL output filter. For this topology, it is known that when output current and capacitor current are fed back through certain optimal gains, the system is ...

Design of LCL-filters with LCL resonance frequencies beyond the Nyquist frequency for grid-connected inverters

2015 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2015
This paper proposes a novel LCL-filter design method and its current control for grid-connected converters. With the proposed design method, it is possible to set the resonance frequency of the LCL-filter to be higher than the Nyquist frequency, i.e. half of the system sampling frequency, and this observation is so far not discussed in the literature ...

Reduced-Order Extended Observer and Correction Discretization Method for High-Speed Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor With LCL Filter

IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics
The forward Euler method is well known for its simplicity and ease of implementation in permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) controls. However, it introduces significant errors, which become more severe when establishing the discrete-time model of a

Design of LCL filter for wind power inverter

2010 World Non-Grid-Connected Wind Power and Energy Conference, 2010
An LCL filter is more and more widely used in wind power inverters. However, it may easily result in instability due to resonance, which makes it difficult for stability control without damping. A voltage oriented control strategy under the dq synchronization reference frame is adopted based on the mathematical model of the three-phase inverter for ...

Three-Phase Transformerless PV Inverter With Reconfigurable LCL Filter and Reactive Power Capability

IEEE transactions on power electronics
Constructing LCL filter with only three inductors is made possible by a topology called the reconfigurable filter in three-phase converters, in which the filter is reconfigured six times during the ac line cycle.

Electromagnetic Integration of Decoupled LCL-Filter for Grid-Tied Converters With FMLF Technique

IEEE transactions on power electronics
LCL-type filters, compared to L- or LC-type filters, are preferred in grid-tied converters due to their better capability of harmonic suppression.

Resonance Damping Methods of LCL Filter

2017
The control challenges of LCL-type grid-connected inverter arise from the resonance problem. At the resonance frequency, the LCL filter resonance causes a sharp phase step down of −180° with a high resonance peak. This resonance peak would easily lead to system instability and should be damped.
