Development of ZnO Buffer Layers for As‐Doped CdSeTe/CdTe Solar Cells with Efficiency Exceeding 20%

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Highly resistive ZnO has been used as the buffer layer in As‐doped CdSeTe/CdTe solar cells to achieve efficiencies higher than 20%. STEM images and EDX mapping show that the quality of the front interface is dependent on the ZnO deposition temperature. Unusually, chlorine is not observed at the front interface using EDX when the ZnO is deposited at 100

Reconfigurable Manipulation of Sound with a Multimaterial 3D Printed Origami Metasurface

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This paper demonstrates a programmable origami‐inspired metasurface, using multimaterial three‐dimensional printing technology to achieve reconfigurable sound manipulation. The unique bistable design enables rapid switching between configurations, allowing for precise control of acoustic reflections with minimal mechanical input. The results showcase a

Facile Synthesis of a Carbon Nano Dot‐Based Wearable Flexible Thermoelectric Device

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A wearable proto‐type device made with low‐cost, bio‐friendly, and environmentally safe materials that can be readily fabricated to generate energy from low waste temperatures is demonstrated. The Carbon Nano Dot composite thin films are supported by a flexible cellulose substrate that harnesses thermoelectric principles to generate power from body ...

Transforming Room Acoustics with Causality‐Driven Dual‐Function Passive Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work presents an dual acoustic metamaterial for rooms that achieves excellent broadband performance for both sound absorption and sound diffusion. This is done by using causality formulations linking the absorption of the passive system to its volume, yielding an optimal surface area ratio required for excellent sound absorption and while ...
