Spin‐Split Edge States in Metal‐Supported Graphene Nanoislands Obtained by CVD

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Combining STM measurements and ab‐initio calculations, we show that zig‐zag edges in graphene nanoislands grown on Ni(111) by CVD retrieve their spin‐polarized edge states after intercalation of a few monolayers of Au. ABSTRACT Spin‐split states localized on zigzag edges have been predicted for different free‐standing graphene nanostructures.

Entity Profiling to Identify Actor Involvement in Topics of Social Media Content

open access: yesIJCCS (Indonesian Journal of Computing and Cybernetics Systems), 2020
The efficiency of using social media affected modern society's nature and communication; they are more interested in talking through social media than meeting in the real world.

DFT screened-exchange approach for investigating electronical properties of graphene-related materials

open access: yes, 2010
We present ab initio calculations of the bandstructure of graphene and of short zigzag graphene nanoribbons by the screened-exchange-LDA method (sX-LDA) within the framework of density functional theory (DFT). The inclusion of non-local electron-electron

Polyimide‐Linked Hexaazatriphenylene‐Based Porous Organic Polymer with Multiple Redox‐Active Sites as a High‐Capacity Organic Cathode for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A high‐capacity polyimide‐linked porous organic polymer (HAT‐PTO) incorporating numerous redox‐active centers is synthesized via a hydrothermal reaction, delivering a high theoretical capacity of 484 mAh g−1. In situ hybridization with carboxyl‐functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes enhances conductivity and stability, achieving 397 mAh g−1 at C ...

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

Avaliação do perfil de susceptibilidade aos antimicrobianos de microrganismos isolados em urinas na região do Vale do Sousa e Tâmega.

open access: yesActa Médica Portuguesa, 2010
The urinary tract is one of the more common sites of bacterial infections, especially in women. Urinary infection can be defined as an infection of urinary tract structures which occurs, generally, as a consequence of the presence or colonization by ...

Implementation of the LDA+U method using the full potential linearized augmented plane wave basis

open access: yes, 1999
We provide a straightforward and efficient procedure to combine LDA+U total energy functional with the full potential linearized augmented plane wave method. A detailed derivation of the LDA+U Kohn-Sham type equations is presented for the augmented plane

Stable Protein‐Based G‐Quadruplex‐Derived Supramolecular Bioinks as Tunable ECM‐Mimetic Constructs Assembled by Combining Non‐Covalent and Covalent Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Harnessing the synergistic interplay of supramolecular self‐assembly, under macromolecular crowding conditions, and enzymatic‐mediated covalent crosslinking toward a stable protein‐based G‐quadruplex‐derived supramolecular bioink. This bioinspired strategy enables the biofabrication of complex and tunable ECM‐mimetic constructs, providing a platform ...
