On fuzzy syndrome hashing with LDPC coding [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 4th International Symposium on Applied Sciences in Biomedical and Communication Technologies, 2011
The last decades have seen a growing interest in hash functions that allow some sort of tolerance, e.g. for the purpose of biometric authentication. Among these, the syndrome fuzzy hashing construction allows to securely store biometric data and to perform user authentication without the need of sharing any secret key.

A path splitting and pruning strategy on list decoder for PAC codes

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 18, Issue 18, Page 1292-1299, November 2024.
The paper introduces a novel low‐complexity list decoding algorithm for polarization‐adjusted convolutional codes. By incorporating path splitting and pruning strategies based on highly reliable information bits, our algorithm significantly reduces decoding complexity while maintaining optimal performance.

Research on unequal error protection of irregular LDPC codes

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2005
An irregular low-density parity-check (LDPC) code with unequal error protection (UEP) property was proposed. A weight-increasing parity-check (WIPC) matrix was constructed.

Binary Representaion for Non-binary LDPC Code with Decoder Design [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The equivalent binary parity check matrices for the binary images of the cycle-free non-binary LDPC codes have numerous bit-level cycles. In this paper, we show how to transform these binary parity check matrices into their cycle-free forms. It is shown that the proposed methodology can be adopted not only for the binary images of non-binary LDPC codes

Decoding Optimization for 5G LDPC Codes by Machine Learning

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
In this paper, we propose a generalized minimum-sum decoding algorithm using a linear approximation (LAMS) for protograph-based low-density parity-check (PB-LDPC) codes with quasi-cyclic (QC) structures.

Dimmable constant weight polar‐coded non‐orthogonal multiple access with orthogonal space‐time block coding visible light communication systems

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 18, Issue 17, Page 1071-1078, October 2024.
The study integrates dimmable constant weight polar‐coded non‐orthogonal multiple access (CWPC‐NOMA) with orthogonal space‐time block coding (OSTBC) for visible light communication (VLC). The proposed scheme enhances spectral efficiency and reliability while optimizing resource utilization and leveraging transmit diversity.

Mimic turbo compiled code structure for wireless communication systems

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 18, Issue 17, Page 1089-1106, October 2024.
This paper describes a turbo compiled code structure that introduces the idea of dynamic heterogeneous redundancy. Abstract Turbo codes play a crucial role in wireless communication systems, and their compiled code structures are key factors affecting the performance of the entire communication system.

Differentially Encoded LDPC Codes—Part II: General Case and Code Optimization

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2008
This two-part series of papers studies the theory and practice of differentially encoded low-density parity-check (DE-LDPC) codes, especially in the context of noncoherent detection. Part I showed that a special class of DE-LDPC codes, product accumulate

CeSR + Assisted LDPC: A Holistic Strategy to Improve MLC NAND Flash Reliability

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
NAND flash suffers from program interference and retention errors, which negatively affect its reliability. Existing schemes preprocess raw data before writing them to reduce Raw Bit Error Rate (RBER) and leverage ECCs (such as LDPC codes) to reduce ...

Deriving Good LDPC Convolutional Codes from LDPC Block Codes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
Low-density parity-check (LDPC) convolutional codes are capable of achieving excellent performance with low encoding and decoding complexity. In this paper we discuss several graph-cover-based methods for deriving families of time-invariant and time-varying LDPC convolutional codes from LDPC block codes and show how earlier proposed LDPC convolutional ...
