Comprehensive Study on CC-LDPC, BC-LDPC and Polar Code

2020 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference Workshops (WCNCW), 2020
Channel coding scheme is very crucial for the next sixth generation (6G) mobile communication. In this paper, we investigate the encoding and decoding methods of the state-of-the-art channel codes, which include the convolutional code LDPC (CC-LDPC), block code LDPC (BC-LDPC) and polar code to access the benefits from CC-LDPC.

Irregular LDPC codes as concatenation of regular LDPC codes

IEEE Communications Letters, 2005
In this letter, the construction of irregular LDPC codes obtained by concatenating regular ones is considered. These codes are analyzed for the binary symmetric channel (BSC). It is shown via proper distribution evolution that such concatenated codes have in general a threshold value weaker (but not necessarily much different) than their unconstrained ...

Overview of LDPC Codes

7th IEEE International Conference on Computer and Information Technology (CIT 2007), 2007
In light of the history of LDPC codes and relevant research advances in recent years, this paper probes into the encoding and decoding techniques related to this capacity-approaching error-correction technology. Besides the general expression as an equation, LDPC codes can also be examined with a Tanner graph.

Iterative LDPC-LDPC product code for bit patterned media

2016 Asia-Pacific Magnetic Recording Conference Digest (APMRC), 2016
Bit patterned media aims at high density recording of more than 10 Tb per square inch, but a burst error mostly occurred by media defects, and data write failure can be a serious problem. However, if the burst errors are compensated by erasure decoding, the performance of low-density parity check (LDPC) code, which is a strong candidate for the error ...

Efficient Quantum Stabilizer Codes: LDPC and LDPC-Convolutional Constructions

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2010
Existing quantum stabilizer codes constructed from the classic binary codes exclusively belong to the special subclass of Calderbank-Shor-Steane (CSS) codes. This paper fills in the gap by proposing five systematic constructions for non-CSS stabilizer codes, the first four of which are based on classic binary quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check (LDPC)

Block-LDPC: a practical LDPC coding system design approach

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems Part 1: Regular Papers, 2005
This paper presents a joint low-density parity-check (LDPC) code-encoder-decoder design approach, called Block-LDPC, for practical LDPC coding system implementations. The key idea is to construct LDPC codes subject to certain hardware-oriented constraints that ensure the effective encoder and decoder hardware implementations.

The rate of regular LDPC codes

IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2003. Proceedings., 2003
Summary: We find the rate of a typical code from the regular low-density parity-check (LDPC) ensemble. We then show that the rate of a code from the ensemble converges to the design rate in quadratic mean and almost surely.

LDPC Decoding on the Intel SCC

2012 20th Euromicro International Conference on Parallel, Distributed and Network-based Processing, 2012
Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) codes are powerful error correcting codes used today in communication standards such as DVB-S2 and WiMAX to transmit data inside noisy channels with high error probability. LDPC decoding is computationally demanding and requires irregular accesses to memory which makes it suitable for parallelization.

Design of optimal LDPC code for the system of GMSK concatenated with LDPC codes

2011 2nd International Conference on Control, Instrumentation and Automation (ICCIA), 2011
This paper mainly concerns on the continuous phase modulation system of GMSK concatenated with LDPC codes. Decomposing GMSK signal into differential coding and PAM modulating manner, we analyze the iterative demodulating and decoding principle and design optimal LDPC codes based on EXIT chart.

High-throughput LDPC decoders

IEEE Transactions on Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) Systems, 2003
A high-throughput memory-efficient decoder architecture for low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes is proposed based on a novel turbo decoding algorithm. The architecture benefits from various optimizations performed at three levels of abstraction in system design-namely LDPC code design, decoding algorithm, and decoder architecture.
