Distributed QC-LDPC Coded Spatial Modulation for Half-Duplex Wireless Communications [PDF]

open access: yesRadioengineering, 2022
The bit error rate (BER) performance of spatial modulation (SM) can be further improved by applying quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check (QC-LDPC) codes recommended in 5G to SM.

A construction for girth‐8 QC‐LDPC codes using Golomb rulers

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2022
In this paper, an algebraic construction of regular QC‐LDPC codes by using the modular multiplication table mod P and Golomb rulers are proposed. It is proved that the proposed QC‐LDPC codes based on a Golomb ruler of length L have girth at least 8 if P ...

Distributed GRS‐coded differential spatial modulation for half‐duplex cooperative network based on relay optimization and joint decoding

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 18, Issue 20, Page 1795-1812, December 2024.
The article proposes the novel distributed generalized Reed‐Solomon coded differential spatial modulation (DGRSC‐DSM) scheme, where two selection algorithms are developed at the relay to optimize the final code with a better weight enumeration. Based on the specific structure of the GRS codes and the selection mode, the novel Smart‐joint decoding ...

Applications of LDPC Codes to the Wiretap Channel [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2007
With the advent of quantum key distribution (QKD) systems, perfect (i.e. information-theoretic) security can now be achieved for distribution of a cryptographic key. QKD systems and similar protocols use classical error-correcting codes for both error correction (for the honest parties to correct errors) and privacy amplification (to make an ...

Online fountain code with an improved caching mechanism

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 18, Issue 20, Page 1813-1825, December 2024.
By catching some selected encoded symbols discarded in the original online fountain codes and giving an optimal degree selection strategy of encoded symbols, the proposed online fountain code improves the receiving rules of the encoded symbols. The proposed online codes outperform the state‐of‐art online fountain codes in terms of overhead factors ...

Classical channel bandwidth requirements in continuous variable quantum key distribution systems

open access: yesIET Quantum Communication, Volume 5, Issue 4, Page 601-611, December 2024.
The reconciliation method for continuous variable quantum key distribution (CV‐QKD) systems is usually chosen based on its reconciliation efficiency. Nonetheless, one must also consider the requirements of each reconciliation method in terms of the amount of information transmitted on the classical channel. Such may limit the achievable key rates.

Design and Implementation of Transparent Cross‐Polarization Interference Compensation in a Wideband Dual‐Polarization Satellite Receiver

open access: yesInternational Journal of Satellite Communications and Networking, Volume 42, Issue 6, Page 481-492, November/December 2024.
ABSTRACT In this paper, simultaneous transmission on two orthogonal antenna polarizations in a polarization division multiplexing (PDM) fashion is studied for wideband satellite communication links using dual‐polarization satellite receivers for the purpose of doubling the data rate. In order to mitigate the cross‐polarization interference (XPI), a new

A path splitting and pruning strategy on list decoder for PAC codes

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 18, Issue 18, Page 1292-1299, November 2024.
The paper introduces a novel low‐complexity list decoding algorithm for polarization‐adjusted convolutional codes. By incorporating path splitting and pruning strategies based on highly reliable information bits, our algorithm significantly reduces decoding complexity while maintaining optimal performance.

From product codes to structured generalized LDPC codes [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 5th International ICST Conference on Communications and Networking in China, 2010
Product codes, due to their relatively large minimum distance, are often seen as a natural solution for applications requiring low error floors. In this paper, we show by means of an ensemble weight enumerator analysis that the minimum distance multiplicities of product codes are much higher than those obtainable by other generalized LDPC (GLDPC ...

Dimmable constant weight polar‐coded non‐orthogonal multiple access with orthogonal space‐time block coding visible light communication systems

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 18, Issue 17, Page 1071-1078, October 2024.
The study integrates dimmable constant weight polar‐coded non‐orthogonal multiple access (CWPC‐NOMA) with orthogonal space‐time block coding (OSTBC) for visible light communication (VLC). The proposed scheme enhances spectral efficiency and reliability while optimizing resource utilization and leveraging transmit diversity.
