Irregular LDPC codes as concatenation of regular LDPC codes
IEEE Communications Letters, 2005In this letter, the construction of irregular LDPC codes obtained by concatenating regular ones is considered. These codes are analyzed for the binary symmetric channel (BSC). It is shown via proper distribution evolution that such concatenated codes have in general a threshold value weaker (but not necessarily much different) than their unconstrained ...

Protograph-based LDPC-Hadamard Codes
2020 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC), 2020In this paper, we propose a new method to design low-density parity-check Hadamard (LDPC-Hadamard) codes — a type of ultimate-Shannon-limit approaching channel codes. The technique is based on applying Hadamard constraints to the check nodes in a generalized protograph-based LDPC code, followed by lifting the generalized protograph.

Low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes are well known for their abilities to achieve near Shannon channel capacity limit and low decoding complexity compared with the turbo decoder. However, their encoding complexities grow with the square of the code length.

Nonbinary LDPC-Coded Spatial Modulation
IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2017This paper presents a nonbinary low-density parity-check (LDPC) coded spatial modulation (CSM) for multiple-input multiple-output communication systems, in which the information bits for choosing active transmit antennas and the bits for choosing constellation signals are protected by a nonbinary LDPC code.

Coded cooperation using LDPC codes
2009 Global Mobile Congress, 2009In this paper, a novel scheme of coded cooperation using LDPC codes is presented. Two decoding methods are proposed. A simple upper bound of this scheme is introduced based on the union bound. The performance of these two methods is evaluated and compared by simulation.

Iterative LDPC-LDPC product code for bit patterned media
2016 Asia-Pacific Magnetic Recording Conference Digest (APMRC), 2016Bit patterned media aims at high density recording of more than 10 Tb per square inch, but a burst error mostly occurred by media defects, and data write failure can be a serious problem. However, if the burst errors are compensated by erasure decoding, the performance of low-density parity check (LDPC) code, which is a strong candidate for the error ...

LDPC-coded TCM-QPSK optical transmission scheme outperforming LDPC-coded BPSK
2013 IEEE Photonics Conference, 2013TCM-QPSK concatenated with a properly designed outer LDPC code is evaluated and compared against LDPC-coded BPSK. Simulation results show that BER performance of the former is 0.8 dB better than that of the latter.

Design of structured irregular LDPC codes from structured regular LDPC codes
Proceedings of the 2015 Third International Conference on Computer, Communication, Control and Information Technology (C3IT), 2015Irregular Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) codes exhibit a performance extremely close to the Shannon capacity formula. In this paper, we presented a method of developing structured irregular LDPC codes from structured regular LDPC codes. The design is based on the expansion of the column-weight two LDPC codes.
