Sustained Release and Therapeutic Evaluation of Simvastatin‐Loaded Bioglass–Chitosan Gel Formulation for Skin Regeneration and Wound Healing Potential

open access: yesMedComm – Biomaterials and Applications, Volume 5, Issue 3, September 2026.
A multifunctional chitosan–gallic acid hydrogel incorporated with heparin modified Zn–Ag doped bioglass and simvastatin was synthesized for chronic wound healing. The system shows antioxidant, antimicrobial, and pro‐angiogenic properties, promoting cell proliferation and collagen production.

Transition Metal Chalcogenides: Perspectives on Their Applications for Nitrate Reduction

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2026.
This review paper reports the syntheses, properties, and applications of TMCs for electrochemical reduction of nitrate to ammonia. Various studies revealed that the conversion of nitrate to ammonia is principally the electrocatalytic hydrogenation of nitrate and the rate and yield of ammonia is competitively challenged by hydrogen evolution reaction ...

Efficient One‐Pot Synthesis of 1,2,4,5‐Tetrasubstituted Imidazoles Using GO@SiO2@[(CH2)3Im][Cl] as a Novel Nanocomposite Under MW Irradiation

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2026.
This study presents the development of a novel nanocomposite catalyst, GO@SiO2@[(CH2)3Im][Cl], for the efficient one‐pot synthesis of 1,2,4,5‐tetrasubstituted imidazoles under environmentally benign conditions. The catalyst design incorporates graphene oxide, silica, and an imidazolium‐functionalized layer, creating a unique catalytic environment for ...

Hydrophilic Thiol‐Functionalized Silver Nanoparticles as Bio‐Stimulants in Quercus Pubescens Seedling Development

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 11, Issue 33, 1 September 2026.
Surface‐functionalized hydrophilic silver nanoparticles (AgNPs‐3MPS, where 3MPS = sodium 3‐mercapto‐1‐propanesulfonate) were synthesized and characterized. Colloidal AgNPs‐3MPS were tested on Quercus pubescens seedlings to link nanomaterial hydrophilicity and loading with plant responses. Results showed a dose‐dependent effects relevant for sustainable

Amidst (waste) abundance: world‐making and struggles in hosting a municipal landfill in the Bolivian lowlands Au milieu de l'abondance (de déchets) : fabrication du monde et luttes liées à la gestion d'une décharge municipale dans les basses terres de Bolivie

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Anthropological Institute, Volume 32, Issue 3, Page 907-926, September 2026.
In recent decades, solid waste has proliferated worldwide, becoming a pressing global issue. This article explores the role of Indigenous people dwelling within and upon emerging waste scenarios, with a specific focus on involved forms of sociality and ontological contestation. Drawing on the case of a municipal landfill sited on a Guarani community in
