Effect of repeated leachate recycling on leachate characteristics
World Review of Science, Technology and Sustainable Development, 2010In the present study, effect of repeated leachate recycling on leachate characteristics was observed in a laboratory experiment. Solid wastes of different ages, exhumed from a landfill in New Delhi (India), were used. Leachate generated from the same landfill was used to perform the experiments.

Phytoremediation of landfill leachate
Waste Management, 2006Leachate emissions from landfill sites are of concern, primarily due to their toxic impact when released unchecked into the environment, and the potential for landfill sites to generate leachate for many hundreds of years following closure. Consequently, economically and environmentally sustainable disposal options are a priority in waste management ...

Landfilling is one of the most important methods for disposal of solid waste in many countries. One of the most obvious problems associated with the landfilling practice is the generation of leachate. This chapter reviews case studies on the on-site treatment of leachates using various technologies in selected European and Asian countries. It was shown
