Enhancing CoFe Catalysts with V2CTX MXene‐Derived Materials for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...

Ultrasoft Iontronics: Stretchable Diodes Enabled by Ionically Conductive Bottlebrush Elastomers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a solvent‐free, ultrasoft, and stretchable ionic diode based on oppositely charged bottlebrush elastomers (BBEs). The BBE diode exhibits an ultralow Young's modulus (<23 kPa), a high rectification ratio of 46, and stretchability over 400%.

Component leaching of water oxidation electrocatalysts

open access: yesInfoMat
Most electrocatalysts are known to experience structural change during the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) process. Considerable endeavors have been dedicated thus far to comprehending the catalytic process and uncovering the underlying mechanism. During

Selective sulfuric acid cyclic leaching of vanadium from the calcification roasting pellets of vanadium titanomagnetite

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
Here, a new method of sulfuric acid cyclic leaching was proposed to selectively leach vanadium from the calcification roasting pellets of vanadium titanomagnetite. Cyclic leaching and conventional heap leaching were compared.

Management affects nitrate leaching from organic farms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Management decisions significantly affect nitrate-N leaching (N-leaching) from comparable organic fields. The main concern is field management during autumn and themanagement of grass leys.

Assessing biogeochemical effects and best management practice for a wheat–maize cropping system using the DNDC model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Contemporary agriculture is shifting from a single-goal to a multi-goal strategy, which in turn requires choosing best management practice (BMP) based on an assessment of the biogeochemical effects of management alternatives.

Magnetically Guided Mechanoactive Mineralization Scaffolds for Enhanced Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D‐printed ‘rebar‐concrete’ inspired scaffold (PGS‐P@MGel) synergizes spontaneous biomineralization with magneto‐mechanical stimulation through PDA@Fe3O4‐embedded hydrogel. This dual biointerface activates Piezo1/β‐catenin/YAP mechanotransduction axis, enhancing BMSCs osteogenesis and angiogenesis simultaneously.

Environmental impacts of grazed pastures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Large nitrogen (N) surplus and return of excreta-N in localised patches at high N rates in intensively grazed pasture systems markedly increases the risk of N losses to waterways and the atmosphere. Here are described the main routes of N input to grazed
