Polar Lattice‐Distorted Motifs Enable Synergy of Local Polarization/Dipole Fields for Concurrent Glyphosate Wastewater Remediation and CO Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photocatalytic treatment of glyphosate herbicide in agricultural wastewater is achieved through the cooperative effect of the local polarization field and dipole field mediated by lattice‐distorted carbon nitride. Glyphosate is completely degraded via selective C─P bond cleavage with a CO evolution rate of 1166 µmol g−1 h−1.

Kinetics and model building of leaching of water-soluble compounds of Tilia sapwood

open access: yes, 2009
[[abstract]]The kinetics of the leaching ofwater-soluble compounds of Tilia sapwoodwas investigated.Abatch leaching model, based on the assumption of a second-order mechanism for the leaching, was developed to predict the rate constant of leaching, the ...

The Importance of Metal‐Organic Framework Linker Atoms for CO2 Reduction: A DFT Study

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using DFT, we examine the role of linker atoms in CO2 reduction on copper‐based metal organic frameworks (Cu MOFs). Our calculations reveal that linker atoms may serve as both CO2 and H‐shuttling sites and suggest linker electrostatics as a descriptor for linker activity. ABSTRACT Although the metal within the secondary building unit of a metal‐organic

A Novel Selective Oxygen Pressure Leaching for Zinc Extraction from Hemimorphite in Acid-Free Solutions

open access: yesMetals
A novel acid-free oxygen pressure leaching for the extraction of zinc from hemimorphite was proposed in this study. Green vitriol (FeSO4·7H2O), as one of the important industrial by-products, was used as the leaching reagent to separate zinc from silicon

Assessment of weathering and leaching rates of Thule hot particles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Within the current project a methodology for separating actinide particles originating from the Thule 1968 accident has been developed. Particles were completely isolated in water using visual and radiometric methods. The particles were attached electrostatic to a plastic support and could easily be moved to any container for leaching studies or other ...

Dual‐Physical‐Field Nanocatalysis: Injectable Hydrogel Enables Piezo‐Photothermal Synergy for Breast Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Piezocatalytic therapy (PCT) harnesses mechanical energy to generate tumor‐lethal reactive oxygen species (ROS), but its efficacy is limited by rapid electron‐hole recombination and poor intratumoral retention. To overcome these limitations, we engineered heterostructured BiOCl@CuO nanosheets embedded in an injectable, conductive ...

Farm level cost of reducing nitrate leaching by economic instruments in Croatian farming systems

open access: yes
Croatian farming systems have become more intensive in recent years. There is some evidence of rising NO3-N-levels in ground water. The aim of the paper is to find pos-sible ways of preventing NO3-levels to rise in Croatian farming systems and their im ...
