ICP measurements of leach rates of waste glasses
Nuclear and Chemical Waste Management, 1981The long-term management of the high-level radioactive wastes from the reprocessing of irradiated nuclear fuel seems to be the critical point concerning the nuclear fuel cycle. The solid forms, discussed for the storage of this waste, range from calcines, glasses, and ceramics to SYNROC.

A Mechanically Controlled Variable Rate Leaching Device
Soil Science Society of America Journal, 1977Abstract Twenty‐four leaching tubes attached to 60‐ml plastic syringes are mounted on the periphery of three vertically aligned slotted discs 45 cm in diameter. The plungers are withdrawn at a controlled rate by a variable speed screw jack that separates the two lower discs holding the plungers and syringe barrels, respectively ...

Effect of chloride ions on leaching rate of chalcopyrite
Minerals Engineering, 2010Abstract The effect of chloride on chalcopyrite leaching has been investigated by performing batch leaching tests with three kinds of leaching solutions and using Hiroyoshi’s model, which suggests that a zone of rapid leaching exists between the critical potential (Ec, equilibrium redox potential for the reduction of CuFeS2 to Cu2S) and the oxidation

LEACHING RATES OF ICEL-YAVCA DOLOMITE IN HYDROCHLORIC ACID SOLUTION
Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Review, 2007Experiments were performed in aqueous hydrochloric acide (HCl) solutions over the bulk solution pH − 0.01 to 0.71 and at temperatures of 25, 40, 50, 70, and 85°C. Variation of the dissolution recoveries, temperature, and pH with the time were studied. The logarithms of the chemical dissolution rates (r) obtained at constant hydrodynamic conditions for ...

The application of neutron activation analysis to leach rate studies
Nuclear and Chemical Waste Management, 1981The applicability of neutron activation analysis to the determination of element release from simulated nuclear waste forms during leaching is described for three different glasses. Potential neutron irradiation effects are discussed and shown, through a series of leach tests on activated and nonactivated glass samples, to have no discernible effect on

Determination of leaching rates of precious metals by electrochemical techniques
Journal of Applied Electrochemistry, 1991The leaching rates of gold, silver, palladium and platinum in cyanide solutions have been determined from the corrosion potential and voltammograms of the anodic oxidation reaction. The order of reactivity was Au>Ag>Pd>Pt and the leaching rate was a maximum at about pH 10 for each metal. An assessment was made of the applicability of PAR M342C Softcorr

Modified approach to trigg and leach's adaptive response rate model
Computers & Operations Research, 1979Abstract Trigg and Leach's model is simple to implement in an industrial environment and has been found to be well suited for producing routine short-term forecasts of a large number of items. In this paper two modifications to Trigg and Leach's model are proposed with a view to improving its performance under a variety of demand situations. Both the

Effect on Leaching on Pine Litter Decomposition Rate
Ecology, 1969Leached pine needles have a much higher decomposition rate than unleached ones. Under laboratory conditions, the measurement of carbon dioxide production yields a close estimate of decomposition rate as measured by weight loss.

Fertigation rate, leaching fraction, and growth of potted poinsettia
Journal of Plant Nutrition, 1996Single-pinched poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima 'V-14 Glory') in 15-cm pots received constant fertigation with 50, 100, 200, and 300 mg.L -1 nitrogen (N) from a 20N-4.4 phosphorus (P)-16.6 potassium (K) fertilizer with a leaching fraction (LF) of 0, 0.2, or 0.4. Plants received 25 irrigations during the 13-week study.
