THE LEAD-BISMUTH EUTECTIC [PDF]
Available information on the liquid lead-bismuth eutectic is reviewed. A compilation of physical, thermodynamic, and nuclear properties is included. Corrosion, corrosion inhibition, and handling of the eutectic are discussed. (R.J.S.)

Molecular Dynamics Simulation on Physical Properties of Liquid Lead, Bismuth and Lead-bismuth Eutectic (LBE) [PDF]
AbstractMolecular dynamics method was applied to simulate the physical properties of liquid metals: lead, bismuth and a binary alloy-- lead-bismuth eutectic (LBE). The embedded atom method (EAM), an empirical model rooted in density-functional theory, was used to represent the many-body interaction within the liquid metals.

Slow strain rate testing of Fe-10Cr-4Al ferritic steel in liquid lead and lead–bismuth eutectic
The susceptibility of Fe-10Cr-4Al steel to liquid metal embrittlement (LME) in low oxygen liquid lead and lead–bismuth eutectic (LBE) environments has been investigated using a newly developed slow strain rate testing (SSRT) technique that can be ...

Visualization of Solidification Process in Lead-bismuth Eutectic
Abstract Pulsed neutron transmission spectroscopy was applied to clarify a phase change phenomena of lead-bismuth eutectics (LBE). The melting and solidification behaviors of the LBE should be well understood to enhance the safety of an LBE-cooled accelerator driven system.
