Scalable manufacturing challenges and limited potency remain two of the most intransigent issues limiting clinical translation of EV therapeutics. Mechanical cues can induce phenotypic changes and increased vesiculation in EV source cells without the use of extraneous reagents, chemicals, and/or cargo, thereby potentially drastically improving the ...

Anti‐Slip Material‐Based Strategies and Approaches
This review highlights the principle mechanisms of slipping at the microscale, linking contact mechanics with a friction behavior model for surface interfaces. Main strategies to develop anti‐slip properties to the surfaces are discussed alongside standardized testing approaches.

Lead-rubber hysteretic bearings suitable for protecting structures during earthquakes [PDF]
Lead-rubber hysteretic bearings provide in a single unit the combined features of vertical load support, horizontal flexibility and energy absorbing capacity required for the base isolation of structures from earthquake attack. The lead-rubber hysteretic bearing is a laminated elastomeric bearing of the type used in bridge structures, with a lead plug ...

Numerical static analysis of the curtain wall with light steel structure [PDF]
This paper presents a numerical analysis of the effect of wind on the curtain wall in a high building. Two types of curtain wall were adopted: made of thin-wall C sections with nominal dimensions and the section that takes into consideration lower ...

Development of Heat Engines Powered by Twisted and Coiled Polymer Fiber Actuators
Continuously rotating engines driven by thermally responsive actuating materials can turn waste heat into useful energy. For the first time heat engines operated by twisted and coiled polymer fiber actuators are demonstrated with engine design guided by two simple analytical models.

Adhesive Double‐Network Granular Organogel E‐Skin
We introduce a double‐network granular organogel adhesive for electronic skin, overcoming adhesion and strength trade‐offs. It provides reversible, robust bonding and ionic conductivity, enabling wearable and soft robotic e‐skin. Thanks to the e‐skin adhesive, a soft robotic trunk can recognize touch, temperature, humidity, and acidity.
