Seasonal Changes in Specific Leaf Weight and Leaf Anatomy of Apple

open access: yesHortScience, 1987
Abstract Newly expanded interior canopy leaves of apple ( Malus domestica Borkh.) had lower specific leaf weight (SLW), leaf thickness, palisade depth, and number of palisade cell layers than middle or peripheral leaves from late May to early October. Leaves on the periphery

Ideal Molecular Sieving with a Dense MOF for Helium Upgrading with Highly Diffusion Selective Mixed Matrix Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.

Flexibility and Dynamicity Enhances and Controls Supramolecular Self‐Assembly of Zinc(II) Metallogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Zinc(II) coordination complexes with tunable aryloxy‐imine ligands exhibit controllable supramolecular self‐assembly into hierarchical fibrous structures. Coordination‐driven stacking, not π–π interactions, enables gelation, dynamic assembly/disassembly, and enhanced nanomechanical properties.

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Impact of Na and K fertilization on Eucalyptus response to drought - integrative approach : S02T08 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Eucalyptus is a fast growing tropical species depending strongly on environment, soil fertility and water supply. Potassium fertilization improves drought resistance and growth performance, but world resources decline while cost increases.

Comparative wood and leaf anatomy of the Cecropiaceœ (Urticales)

open access: yesBulletin du Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle Section B,Adansonia, botanique, phytochimie, 1983
The wood and leaf anatomy of the 6 genera of the Cecropiaceæ are described in detail. The anatomical data are compared with those of the allied Moraceæ and Urticaceæ. The relationship between habit, habitat, and anatomical characters is discussed, as well as the relationships within the family.

Raman Microscopy at the Organic–Inorganic Interfaces in Human Calcified Aortic Valves Shows the Co‐Existence of Whitlockite Crystals and Carbonated Hydroxyapatite‐Mineralized Collagen Fibrils

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study advances our understanding of aortic valve stenosis by capturing spatially resolved chemical and structural changes at the nanoscale. The findings highlight the potential of combined Raman and electron microscopy for understanding calcification mechanisms across diverse tissue types.
