Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

Leaf-to-Fruit Ratios in Vitis vinifera L. cv. “Sauvignon Blanc”, “Carmenère”, “Cabernet Sauvignon”, and “Syrah” Growing in Maule Valley (Chile): Influence on Yield and Fruit Composition

open access: yesAgriculture, 2019
A trial was conducted during the 2005–2006 season in order to determine the effects of different leaf-to-fruit ratios on yield components and fruit composition in four Vitis vinifera L. cultivars.

Comparative Effectiveness and Safety of Inebilizumab Versus Rituximab in AQP4‐IgG‐Positive NMOSD

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Rituximab (anti‐CD20, RTX) and inebilizumab (anti‐CD19, INE) represent B‐cell‐depleting therapies used for aquaporin‐4 antibody‐positive (AQP4‐IgG+) neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD); however, direct comparative evidence remains limited.

A resource capture efficiency index to compare differences in early growth of four tree species in northern England

open access: yesiForest - Biogeosciences and Forestry, 2017
At a trial established in Cumbria, northern England, significant differences in growth rate between tree species were apparent, with cider gum (Eucalyptus gunnii) and alder (Alnus glutinosa) exhibiting most rapid volume and biomass accumulation ...

Study on the Correlation Between Physicochemical Indexes and Sensory Quality of Middle Tobacco Leaves in Weifang

open access: yesGuangdong nongye kexue, 2023
【Objective】Analyzing the key physical and chemical indexes that affects the sensory quality of middle tobacco leaves (C3F grade) in Weifang, which can provide a certain theoretical basis for further improving the sensory quality of tobacco leaves in ...

Integration of Serum Neurofilament Light Chain and Cortical Dysfunction Improves Diagnostic Accuracy in ALS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To determine whether integration of serum neurofilament light chain (NfL) and cortical dysfunction improves diagnostic accuracy in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) when applied alongside the Gold Coast criteria (GCC). Methods In this prospective study, 148 participants with suspected ALS were recruited (101 ALS and 47 with ALS ...

Altitudinal Patterns of Leaf Traits and Leaf Allometry in Bamboo Pleioblastus amarus

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2018
Awareness of local-scale variation in leaf traits for a single species and the relationships between these traits and their dependence on altitude might be essential for extrapolating ecophysiological processes from the leaf to the ecosystem level. While

Delaying berry ripening through manipulating leaf area to fruit ratio

open access: yes, 2015
The viticulture practices have always been focused on the production of grapes with higher sugar level, and this tendency has been pronounced by the climate change. The objective consists on delaying berry ripeness by decreasing the ratio between the leaf area and yield, performing intense trimming treatments after berry set and establishing the ...

Lack of acclimation of leaf area:sapwood area ratios in piñon pine and juniper in response to precipitation reduction and warming [PDF]

open access: yesTree Physiology, 2018
The leaf area to sapwood area ratios of trees (Al:AS) can shift to maintain homeostatic gas exchange per unit leaf area in response to climate variability. We tested the hypothesis that trees alter their Al:AS ratios in response to long-term warming and reduced precipitation in order to maintain leaf-specific gas exchange rates under more stressful ...

Employment Trajectories of Patients with Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and Factors Driving Transitions Between States

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) significantly impacts employment capacity. This study aimed to investigate the impact of burden of disease activity, damage, and treatment on employment outcomes and transitions in patients with SLE. Materials and Methods Using data from a single center, we analyzed employment transitions, adjusted mean ...
