Senescence associated markers to evaluate the quality in postharvest of rocket fresh cut leaves
Senescence is a degenerative process that inevitably affects the quality and the shelf life of fresh cut leafy vegetables. The occurrence of abiotic stresses during the productive chain as well as inadequate or poor handling practices during harvest ...

Seasonal switching of integrated leaf senescence controls in an evergreen perennial Arabidopsis
Evergreeness is a substantial strategy for temperate and boreal plants and is as common as deciduousness. However, whether evergreen plants switch foliage functions between seasons remains unknown. We conduct an in natura study of leaf senescence control

Femtosecond‐Laser Mould Texturing Enables Tunable Biointerfaces in COC Microfluidics
Femtosecond‐laser texturing of injection‐mould inserts enables scalable engineering of biointerfaces in cyclic olefin copolymer microfluidics. Replicated micro‐ and nano‐topographies modulate surface roughness and wettability, leading to texture‐dependent protein adsorption and cell adhesion without chemical post‐processing.

Senescence and protein degradation in leaf segments of young winter wheat - Influence of lead age [PDF]
Leaf senescence in intact wheat plants can be strongly influenced by altered source/sink relations. Interactions with other plant parts are no longer possible in detached leaves and therefore differences in their senescence behaviour reflect the ...

For a Colorful Life: Recent Advances in Anthocyanin Biosynthesis during Leaf Senescence
Leaf senescence is the last stage of leaf development, and it is accompanied by a leaf color change. In some species, anthocyanins are accumulated during leaf senescence, which are vital indicators for both ornamental and commercial value.

3D Printed Omniphobic Slippery Liquid Infused Porous Surfaces for Low Surface Tension Repellency
A 3D printing strategy fabricates omniphobic slippery liquid‐infused porous structures with lubricant reservoirs and interconnected microchannels. A post‐printing surface treatment modifies the porous surface to ensure compatibility with the infused fluorinated lubricant.

Muscle Control of an Extra Robotic Digit
This study compares muscle‐ and movement‐based control for operating a supernumerary robotic thumb. While movement control performs better in the proposed tasks, muscle‐based (EMG) control promotes broader motor learning. The results highlight the promise and challenges of using biosignals for human augmentation, offering new insights into intuitive ...
