A new species of the sharpshooter genus Cardioscarta (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae) from Bolivia and Peru
The South American sharpshooter genus Cardioscarta Melichar, 1932 comprises six species. In this paper we describe and illustrate C. splendida sp. nov. based on a specimen from Bolivia (male holotype deposited in DZUP).

Spiroplasmas in leafhoppers: a review.
This review describes the pathway a plant pathogenic mycoplasma or spiroplasma takes in its passage through a leafhopper vector. Reference is made to several strains of spiroplasma and acholeplasma, but, in particular, data are presented for Spiroplasma citri and the corn stunt spiroplasma.

Geometric design of antireflective leafhopper brochosomes
In nature, leafhoppers cover their body surfaces with brochosomes as a protective coating. These leafhopper-produced brochosomes are hollow, buckyball-shaped, nanoscopic spheroids with through-holes distributed across their surfaces, representing a class of deployable optical materials that are rare in nature.
