Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1979Abstract Seven insecticides were evaluated for control of moderate-heavy populations of vegetable leafminers and their parasites on ‘2-14’ celery. Plots were set up in the commercial celery fields of South Bay Growers Farm in Belle Glade, Florida. The celery was grown on organic muck during Feb - May 1978.

Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1978Abstract Two cultivars of southempeas were planted with a tractor-mounted Planet Jr. in 50-ft rows on 36-inch centers on May 19, 1977, at the Clemson Truck Crop Experiment Station. Soil type was Bladen sandy loam; adequate irrigation was applied. The treatments were arranged in randomized block design (4 replications).

Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1983Abstract Four replicates of 4 'Bud Special' plants per treatment were planted in UC soil mix in 4 inch pots. Granular and liquid pesticides were incorporated directly beneath the plugs at 2.0 lb ai/acre at the time of planting. The liquid was diluted 10X prior to application to add volume, but the rate remained the same.

Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1982Abstract Celery was transplanted 15 Apr. into Lauderhill muck soil on the Univ. of Florida, Agric. Res. and Educ. Cent, farm in Zellwood, Fla. Treatments were applied to single row plots 15 ft long (36 in row spacing and 7 in plant spacing) and replicated five times in a randomized complete block design.

Leafminer Control in Celery, 1985
Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1986Abstract Trials were conducted in a severely infested field of celery near Hudsonville MI (Ottawa Co.). Adult populations were in excess of 500 per 50 sweeps and flies were present on nearly every new leaf. Defoliation exceeded 80% (only new growth was free of mines). Plots were 3 rows by 25 ft, arranged linearly along the eastern border
