Intra-species recombination among strains of the ampelovirus Grapevine leafroll-associated virus 4

open access: yesVirology Journal, 2019
Background Grapevine leafroll disease is one of the most economically important viral diseases affecting grape production worldwide. Grapevine leafroll-associated virus 4 (GLRaV-4, genus Ampelovirus, family Closteroviridae) is one of the six GLRaV ...

RING‐Between‐RING‐Type E3 Ligase Ariadne‐Like Protein 8 Negatively Regulates Plant Virus Infection by Targeting a Viral Movement Protein

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 44, November 27, 2025.
The plant RING‐between‐RING (RBR)‐type E3 ligase, Ariadne‐like protein 8 (ARI8), ubiquitinates and degrades a viral movement protein, restricting virus spread. ARI8 also inhibits other triple gene block 1 (TGB1)‐containing viruses, revealing a broad‐spectrum antiviral role.

Single berry reconstitution prior to RNA-sequencing reveals novel insights into transcriptomic remodeling by leafroll virus infections in grapevines

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
Leafroll viruses are among the most devastating pathogens in viticulture and are responsible for major economic losses in the wine industry. However, the molecular interactions underlying the effects on fruit quality deterioration are not well understood.

Sex Pheromone of the Baldcypress Leafroller (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Economic Entomology, 2015
The baldcypress leafroller, Archips goyerana Kruse (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae), is a specialist on Taxodium distichum (L.) Richard and has caused serious defoliation in swamps of southeastern Louisiana, accelerating decline of baldcypress forests concurrently suffering from nutrient depletion, prolonged flooding, and saltwater intrusion. We investigated

Cucurbit aphid‐borne yellows virus: A growing but overlooked threat to global cucurbit production

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, Volume 187, Issue 3, Page 318-329, November 2025.
Cucurbit aphid‐borne yellows virus (CABYV) presents a significant threat to cucurbit crops worldwide. In this description of a plant virus we review what is currently known about this plant virus. Abstract Cucurbit aphid‐borne yellows virus (CABYV) presents a significant threat to cucurbit crops worldwide.

"A polerovirus, Potato Leafroll virus, alters plant-vector interactions using three viral proteins".

open access: yesPlant, Cell and Environment, 2019
Potato leafroll virus (PLRV), genus Polerovirus, family Luteoviridae, is a major pathogen of potato worldwide. PLRV is transmitted among host plants by aphids in a circulative non-propagative manner. Previous studies have demonstrated that PLRV infection

Transmission of Grapevine Leafroll-associated Virus 3 by Vine Mealybug, Planococcus ficus (Signoret), to Grapevines Treated with Imidacloprid

open access: yes, 2016
Grapevine leafroll disease is widely accepted to be the most damaging grapevine virus disease in South Africa. The current industry strategy to limit leafroll infection in new vineyards includes treating newly planted grapevines with a systemic ...

Occurrence of viruses and Xiphinema spp. in vineyards of the greek islands of Paros and Lemnos

open access: yesPhytopathologia Mediterranea, 2001
A survey was carried out during 1997–2000 in order to determine the incidence of grapevine viruses and their associated nematode-vectors in Paros and Lemnos, the two main islands of the Aegean sea producing V.Q.P.R.D. wines.
