The Effect of Adding Different Antibiotics on the Resistance against Bacterial Leakage of AH 26 Sealer [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Dental Materials and Techniques, 2017
Aim: Most endodontic sealers show antimicrobial activity before setting, but most of them also lose this ability after setting. Addition of an antibiotic may affect the properties of sealers such as sealing ability, setting time, and so on.

Competition between electronic cooling and Andreev dissipation in a superconducting micro-cooler [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We discuss very low temperature experiments on superconducting micro-coolers made of a double Normal metal - Insulator - Superconductor junction. We investigate with a high resolution the differential conductance of the micro-cooler as well as of ...

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Numerical Simulation to Leakage and Spread of Crude Oil from Submarine Buried Pipelines

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2020
Less studies have been carried out on the law of leakage and spread of crude oil in seawater. In this study, according to fluid dynamics, a VOF model and a porous-medium model were established to investigate the effects of seawater flow rate and oil ...

Blood-brain barrier imaging as a potential biomarker for bipolar disorder progression

open access: yesNeuroImage: Clinical, 2020
Bipolar disorder affects approximately 2% of the population and is typically characterized by recurrent episodes of mania and depression. While some patients achieve remission using mood-stabilizing treatments, a significant proportion of patients show ...

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Direct Comparison of Fractional and Integer Quantized Hall Resistance

open access: yes, 2017
We present precision measurements of the fractional quantized Hall effect where the quantized resistance $R^{[1/3]}$ in the fractional quantum Hall state at filling factor 1/3 was compared with a quantized resistance $R^{[2]}$, represented by an integer ...

Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma Deoxidation of Natively Oxide Layer of Copper Powders in a Fluidized Bed

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a novel approach to reducing oxide layers on metal powders using low‐temperature hydrogen dielectric barrier discharge plasmas at atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional hydrogen‐plasma reductions, the powders do not contact the plasma directly.

Experimental investigations on the resistance performance of a high-speed partial air cushion supported catamaran

open access: yesInternational Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, 2020
The partial air cushion supported catamaran (PACSCAT) is a novel Surface Effect Ship (SES) and possesses distinctive resistance performance due to the presence of planing bottom.
