Leakage characteristics of plug flow in the case of pipe leakage
The Canadian Journal of Chemical EngineeringAbstract In order to study the changes in two‐phase flow parameters after pipeline damage and the impact of gas injection on water leakage from damaged pipelines, experimental and simulation studies were conducted on the damaged pipelines.

Control of leakage flows using periodic excitation
Fluids 2000 Conference and Exhibit, 2000Many flows can be characterized as leakage flows from high-pressure sides to lowpressure sides, resulting in increased inefficiency. This paper experimentally explores reducing leakage flows using periodic excitation. A synthetic jet actuator was used as the periodic excitation source in this experiment.

Coupled Reservoir Flow Simulation: Fault Leakage Analysis
SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 2009Abstract Petroleum project costs may increase tremendously if wells need to be shut in or abandoned. A scenario where this possibility exists occurs in a reservoir hanging a major fault that connects the petroleum field to the seafloor.

Tip Leakage Flow Characteristics Downstream of an Axial Flow Fan
Volume 1: Turbomachinery, 1996The three-dimensional viscous flow characteristics and the complex vortex system downstream of the rotor of an industrial exial fan have been determined by an experimental investigation using hot-wire anemometer. Single-wire slanted and straight type probes have been rotated about the probe axis using a computer controlled stepper motor.

Tip Leakage Flow: Advanced Measurements and Analysis
22nd AIAA/CEAS Aeroacoustics Conference, 2016Advanced measurements of a tip clearance flow are carried out in the large subsonic anechoic wind tunnel of the LMFA in Lyon. The experimental set-up is obtained by placing the airfoil between two plates into the potential core of a turbulent rectangular jet, the upper plate being the hub and the lower the casing.

Tip Leakage Flow In a Mixed-flow Pump
The numerical results used to describe the special flow features/characteristics of the mixed-flow pump in this chapter were obtained by employing the computational methodology described in Chapter 3 which includes the pump model, mesh generation, turbulence models and their near wall treatment, and the boundary conditions.Wei Li +4 more

Through Flow Analysis and Leakage Flow of a Regenerative Pump
Transactions of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers B, 2003Flows in a regenerative pump were calculated for several flow-rates, using the CFX-Tascflow. The calculated results show the vortex structure in the impeller and side channel. The predicted performance shows considerable discrepancy from the measured values for low flow rates. Main source of the difference is the leakage flow of pump strongly affecting

A Review of Leakage Flow in Centrifugal Blood Pumps
Artificial Organs, 2006Abstract: This article presents a new approach in determining the functional relationship between the leakage flow in a centrifugal blood pump and various parameters that affect it. While high leakage flow in a blood pump is essential for good washout and can help prevent thrombus formation, excessive leakage flow will result in higher fluid shear ...

Leakage effects in laminar duct flow: a numerical study
Applied Scientific Research, 1992Summary: The influence of transverse leakage into a pressure-driven laminar flow in an infinitely long square duct is investigated. By a simple decomposition of the resulting three-dimensional pressure field, the leakage-induced secondary flow problem decouples from the primary flow problem.
