3D magnetic field sensing for magnetic flux leakage defect characterisation

open access: yesInsight - Non-Destructive Testing and Condition Monitoring, 2006
Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) testing is widely used to detect defects in pipelines, rail track and other structures. The measurement of the two field components perpendicular to the test surface and parallel to the applied field in MFL systems is well established.

New findings in the field of non-destructive magnetic leakage field inspection

NDT International, 1986
Abstract Non-destructive inspection of defects using the magnetic leakage flux method presents several experimental and theoritical difficulties. It is shown that the leakage field strength around a defect is linked linearly with the field strength inside it.

Study on leakage magnetic field and magnetic field shielding for transformers

International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 2023
This paper deals with the leakage magnetic field calculation and magnetic field shielding design of transformers. A large-capacity traction transformer is firstly established, and its magnetic flux density and eddy current loss of the transformer tank are calculated by the layered subdivision method and the surface impedance method.
