Leaky-Wave Structures and Techniques for Integrated Front-End Antenna Systems

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Microwaves, 2023
Leaky-wave antenna (LWA), as a special kind of waveguiding structure simultaneously characterized by both the guidance and radiation of electromagnetic waves along it, has received much attention and has been in the spotlight of both academia and ...

Atomic‐Scale Light Coupling Control in Ultrathin Photonic Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ultrathin photonic nanomembranes provide atomic‐scale control over the coupling between incident light and high‐Q photonic modes, enabling angstrom‐level resonance tuning and strong field confinement. When integrated with TMD monolayers, they further yield enhanced light–matter interactions, offering a versatile platform for advancing quantum photonics,

Sinusoidally Modulated Silicon Leaky Wave Antenna for sub-THz Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Electromagnetics, 2019
A new sub-THz leaky wave antenna based on grounded silicon substrate for chip to chip communication applications is presented. The proposed leaky wave antenna is based on sinusoidally modulated surface reactance.

Speckle‐Engineered Upconversion Amplification in Nanoemulsion‐Templated Hydrogel Microdomes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion‐confined PEGDA microdomes generate speckle‐like excitation fields that strongly amplify upconversion luminescence upon dehydration, enabling filter‐free visible readout with reversible on–off switching. DMD‐based lithography yields scalable, shape‐programmable arrays for moisture‐responsive displays and optical encryption.

Low Profile Slotted Flat Waveguide Leaky Wave Antenna [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper presents the application of a flat waveguide with a longitudinal slot in the middle of its wider wall for the design of a leaky wave antenna. The antenna radiates into one relatively narrow main beam and its gain is 14.2 dB at 4.75 GHz.

Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...

Multi‐Functional ZnO–Te Heterojunction Devices Enabling Compact Frequency Quadrupler

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Wafer‐scale ZnO–Te heterojunction devices featuring tunable double negative differential transconductance (D‐NDT) are demonstrated at ≤ 200°C. Leveraging this unique characteristic, a single‐stage frequency quadrupler is realized, achieving a 64%–75% reduction in device count.

A Novel Frequency Scanning Leaky-Wave Antenna Based on Corrugated Substrate Integrated Waveguide

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2018
In order to facilitate the integration of active devices, a leaky-wave antenna (LWA) based on corrugated substrate integrated waveguide (CSIW) structure is proposed. By introducing rectangular ring slots on the CSIW structure, the proposed LWA is capable

Application of the multiple-scattering method to analysis of systems with semi-infinite photonic waveguides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We propose a technique of compensating the spurious reflections implied by the multiple-scattering (MS) method, commonly used for analyzing finite photonic crystal (PC) systems, to obtain exact values of characteristic parameters, such as reflection and ...

3D‐Printed Hygroscopic Polymer Networks for High‐Humidity Triboelectric Nanogenerators to Wirelessly Power Implantable Electronic Devices‐ A Conceptual Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work develops 3D‐printable tribopolymer networks that can enhance triboelectric performance under high humidity environments. Polar hydrophilic functional groups and incorporation of zwitterionic monomers promote bound‐water–dominated interfacial polarization thereby increasing electrical outputs.
