Full‐Space Scanning Leaky‐Wave Antenna Utilising Spoof Surface Plasmon Polaritons

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
In this paper, we present a novel spoof surface plasmon polariton leaky‐wave antenna (SSPP‐LWA) capable of full‐space beam scanning. The proposed antenna achieves full‐space beam scanning from ‐90° to +90° across the frequency band of 9.8–13.3 GHz, with a high scanning rate of 5.94° per 1% frequency variation.

A Circularly Polarised Zero Beam‐Squinting Leaky‐Wave Antenna With Increased Gain Using NRI‐TL Metamaterials

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
The proposed design consists of two oppositely directed negative‐refractive‐index transmission‐line (NRI‐TL) LWAs, which are fed through an NRI‐TL balun that adds a 180° phase difference between the two output signals, resulting in increased gain and circular polarisation.

Application of Huygens’ Metasurfaces to the Arbitrary Design of a Leaky-Wave Antenna [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Leaky-wave antennas are guiding structures that leak power along their length. Their radiation is mainly characterized by the propagation constant (leakage factor and phase constant) of the traveling wave.

Null‐depth coordinated synthesis design approach to azimuthal null frequency scanning antennas

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 18, Issue 10, Page 763-770, October 2024.
A novel synthesis design approach to multimode resonant, azimuthal null frequency scanning antennas (ANFSAs) coordinated by null‐depth is presented. The antenna is composed of a principal radiator and an auxiliary one fed by an unequal‐split power divider.
