A compact leaky‐wave antenna (LWA) with innovative phase‐shift asymmetric coupling for continuous beam scanning is presented. The antenna utilises a slow‐wave half‐mode substrate integrated waveguide with spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SW‐HMSIW‐SSPP ...

Analysis and Design of Planar Surface Wave Lenses and Application to Leaky-Wave Antennas
Planar metasurface lens structures based on microstrip technology, optimized to control the propagation of surface waves (SWs), are presented. Two different lenses are studied, i.e., a converging or plane-wave-like lens and a diverging lens.

Photon‐Sphere Modes in Curved Optical Microcavities: A Black‐Hole Analogue Laser
An optical analogue of a Schwarzschild black hole is realized using curved microcavities that preserve light‐like geodesics. A new family of laser modes confined around the photon sphere is identified alongside conventional whispering‐gallery modes. Analytical theory, numerical simulations, and experiments reveal curvature‐induced confinement, enabling

ABSTRACT Periodontitis, a chronic inflammatory disease initiated and sustained by plaque microorganisms and host immune response, remains an intractable oral disease and a leading cause of tooth loss worldwide. Traditional mechanical debridement and adjunctive antibiotic or antiseptic therapy often shows limited efficacy due to the complex anatomical ...

The ER's continuous tubular network is maintained by ER‐shaping proteins whose mutation or dysregulation contributes to neurodegenerative diseases. Here, we show that ER morphology sets the speed of Ca2+ store replenishment between firing events. Disrupting ER continuity slows intra‐ER Ca2+ redistribution from extracellular refill (SOCE) sites, driving

Breakthroughs In Low-Profile Leaky-Wave HPM Antennas [PDF]
Abstract : This report describes progress during the 8th quarter of this program and summarizes the current status of the research. Technical activities this period included investigation and application of a simple but clarifying wave-mapping methodology that provides guidance in making more-effective use of curved platform surfaces.

Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

ABSTRACT The combination of metasurfaces with chalcogenide phase‐change materials is a highly promising route toward the development of multifunctional and reconfigurable nanophotonic devices. However, their transition into real‐world devices is hindered by several technological challenges. This includes, amongst others, the lack of large area photonic

We present a textile‐compatible, self‐healing liquid metal ink and a dual‐mask printing technique for high‐resolution patterning. Using this approach, we demonstrate high‐performance millimeter‐wave (mmWave) electronic textiles that exhibit exceptional insensitivity to deformation.
