Metamaterial Based Leaky Wave Antenna
2019 8th Asia-Pacific Conference on Antennas and Propagation (APCAP), 2019In this paper, a CRLH (Composite Right and Left Handed) leaky-wave antenna is proposed for V2X communication. The unit cell is composed of series chip capacitors and via for metamaterial properties. Also, the ground length is varied to attach on the automobiles. The size of the unit cell is 20×40 mm2 and the EM Simulation was used to see the results.

Compact SIW leaky wave antenna
2015 Third International Conference on Technological Advances in Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering (TAEECE), 2015A compact Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) Leaky-Wave Antenna (LWA) is proposed. Internal vias are inserted in the SIW in order to have narrow walls, and so reducing the size of the SIW-LWA, the new structure is called Slow Wave — Substrate Integrated Waveguide — Leaky Wave Antenna (SW-SIW-LWA), since inserting the vias induce the SW effect.

Terahertz Fabry-Perot Cavity Leaky-wave Antennas
2019 PhotonIcs & Electromagnetics Research Symposium - Spring (PIERS-Spring), 2019In this work we examine the recent efforts made in the design of either efficient or reconfigurable Fabry-Perot cavity leaky-wave antennas (FPC-LWAs) in the terahertz (THz) range. We start by discussing the radiating performance of an FPC-LWA consisting of a grounded dielectric slab (GDS) covered with a periodic arrangement of fishnet-like unit cells ...

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2018
In this communication, we propose a high scanning rate leaky-wave antenna (LWA) based on a slow-wave substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) structure. The slow-wave effect is introduced by etching periodical slots on the top surface of SIW.

General Formulas for the Beam Properties of 1-D Bidirectional Leaky-Wave Antennas
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2019In this paper, we analyze the beam properties of bidirectional 1-D leaky-wave antennas (1-D LWAs). Specifically, it is found that, even in the infinite-aperture case, the beam properties considerably change for certain combinations of the phase and the ...

Design considerations for leaky-wave antennas
Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1976General radiation and frequency-scanning characteristics of leaky-wave antennas of infinite length as well as finite length are described. Analytical expressions for gain, side-lobe level and efficiency of a finite-length leaky-wave antenna, for which the propagation constant does not vary along the length of the antenna, are derived. These expressions

Multi-Target Continuous-Wave Vital Sign Radar using 24 GHz Metamaterial Leaky Wave Antennas
2019 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Biomedical Conference (IMBioC), 2019This paper presents a multi-target continuous wave vital sign radar sensor module using metamaterial (MTM) leaky wave antennas (LWAs). By utilizing continuous-wave Doppler radar and performing frequency-space mapping over the azimuth angle, we can obtain

Holey Metasurface Prism for the Reduction of the Dispersion of Gap Waveguide Leaky-Wave Antennas
IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2019Leaky-wave antennas are dispersive, meaning that the direction of maximum radiation is a function of frequency. This behavior, called “beam squinting effect” can be reduced by introducing a dispersive metamaterial prism.
