The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Using Maximum Likelihood Method to Estimate Parameters of the Linear Regression T Truncated Model

open access: yesNTU Journal of Pure Sciences, 2022
The estimation of the parameters is one of an important issues in the mathematical statistics. The development of estimation methods requires accurate estimation and finds the best estimator for parameters.

Least Squares Solutions of the HJB Equation With Neural Network Value-Function Approximators [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, 2007
In this paper, we present an empirical study of iterative least squares minimization of the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) residual with a neural network (NN) approximation of the value function. Although the nonlinearities in the optimal control problem and NN approximator preclude theoretical guarantees and raise concerns of numerical instabilities ...

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Derivation Of Moving Least-Squares Approximation Shape Functions And Its Derivatives Using The Exponential Weight Function

open access: yesCivil Engineering Dimension, 2007
In recent years, meshless methods have gained their popularity, mainly due to the fact that absolutely no elements are required to discretize the problem domain.

Enhancing SPH using moving least-squares and radial basis functions

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper we consider two sources of enhancement for the meshfree Lagrangian particle method smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) by improving the accuracy of the particle approximation.

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Speeding-up the Fitting of the Model Defining the Ribs-bounded Contour

open access: yesApplied Computer Systems, 2017
The method for analysing transversal plane images from computer tomography scans is considered in the paper. This method allows not only approximating ribs-bounded contour but also evaluating patient rotation around the vertical axis during a scan.

Modelling and RBF Control of Low-Limb Swinging Dynamics of a Human–Exoskeleton System

open access: yesActuators, 2023
With the increase in the elderly population in China and the growing number of individuals who are unable to walk normally, research on lower limb exoskeletons is becoming increasingly important.
