Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Using The Ultrasonic Waves For Studying Thermal And Elastic Properties as a Function of Porosity in Sintered ceramic

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences, 2017
Ultrasonic pulse echo measurements on porous alumina as ceramic material with porosities ranging from (20-40)% showed effect of volume fraction of porosity on both thermal and elastic properties. A quadratic relationships, by using a least squares

Substrate Stress Relaxation Regulates Cell‐Mediated Assembly of Extracellular Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Silicone‐based viscoelastic substrates with tunable stress relaxation reveal how matrix mechanics regulates cellular mechanosensing and cell‐mediated matrix remodelling in the stiff regime. High stress relaxation promotes assembly of fibronectin fibril‐like structures, increased nuclear localization of YAP and formation of β1 integrin‐enriched ...

A Study on Accelerated Thermal Aging of High Modulus Carbon/Epoxy Composite Material

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2015
Composite materials have been used increasingly for various space applications due to the favorable characteristic of high modulus to density ratio and potential for near-zero coefficient of thermal expansion.

Shear and longitudinal modulus of elasticity in Corymbia citriodora round timber beams

open access: yesVértices, 2013
This study aimed to evaluate, with the support of the three points static bending test, led nondestructively, the values of the shear (G) and longitudinal (E) modulus of elasticity in Corymbia citriodora structural round timber beams in order to verify ...

3D‐Printed Sulfur‐Derived Polymers With Controlled Architectures for Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rheology‐guided formulation design for direct ink writing enables the fabrication of 3D sulfur copolymer cathodes with controlled architectures for lithium‐sulfur batteries. The printed electrodes exhibit multiscale porosity and high sulfur utilization, delivering enhanced electrochemical performance compared to conventional cast electrodes.

Endothelial Cells Angiogenesis in Sulfated Glycosaminoglycan (GAG) Hydrogels Enhanced by Bioactive Glass‐Released Ions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A mechanically tunable hydrogel composed of gelatin, chondroitin sulfate and laminin promotes angiogenesis in vitro without the supplement of growth factors. Endothelial cells morphogenesis was further enhanced by medium conditioned with bioactive glass 58S‐released ions (Ca and Si), thus offering a promising strategy to vascularize 3D tissue ...

Complex modulus estimation respecting causality: Application to viscoelastic bars

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2012
The identification of linear visco-elasticity models mostly focuses on the real and imaginary parts of the Young’s modulus. Many methods have been proposed in the past to identify these material model parameters from experiments.

Estimation of Young's Modulus of Graphene by Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yes, 2012
The Young's modulus of graphene is estimated by measuring the strain applied by a pressure difference across graphene membranes using Raman spectroscopy. The strain induced on pressurized graphene balloons can be estimated directly from the peak shift of
