Microplastics from Wearable Bioelectronic Devices: Sources, Risks, and Sustainable Solutions
Bioelectronic devices (e.g., e‐skins) heavily rely on polymers that at the end of their life cycle will generate microplastics. For research, a holistic approach to viewing the full impact of such devices cannot be overlooked. The potential for devices as sources for microplastics is raised, with mitigation strategies surrounding polysaccharide and ...

AbstractLeather industry produces huge amounts of solid wastes. In the last decade, several methods for the recovery and valorization of these wastes were developed, mainly focused on the extraction of collagen using chemical methods. The extracted collagen, due to its poor quality, is mostly used in agriculture as a nitrogen source ingredient of ...

Toward Energy Efficient Electrochemical Valorization of Waste Nitrate and Sulfide
This work introduces an integrated electrochemical strategy couples nitrate reduction with sulfide oxidation for energy‐efficient wastewater valorization. A Cu‐Co dual‑site catalyst, engineered for close proximity, promotes *NO2 relay and subsequently NH3 formation, enabling the system to operate at substantially reduced cell voltages and produce high ...

The Vegan Villain Sets Out to The End of Summer: Functionalized Coatings as Biohybrid UV‐Sensors
This study introduces biohybrid coatings incorporating E. coli biomass expressing photoconvertible fluorescent proteins as UV‐A responsive elements. Upon irradiation at 400 nm, the coatings exhibit an irreversible fluorescence shift from green to red within 15 min. Notably, the photoconversion capability is retained after >1 year of storage.
