Molecular species of lecithins in human gallbladder bile

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1993
Using a precise high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) technique, we identified the molecular species of lecithins in gallbladder biles from patients with cholesterol gallstones (n = 29), pigment gallstones (n = 9), morbid obesity (n = 5), and ...

Viscosity of phosphatidylcholine (lecithin)

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 1966
AbstractThe viscosities of egg lecithin dispersed in water have been measured by means of a Couette viscometer. The more concentrated dispersions are thixotropic, but below 1·8% w/w of lecithin the sols become Newtonian. From the extrapolated ratio of specific viscosity to volume fraction, the dispersed particles are considered to be of an elongated ...

Postprandial Metabolism, Inflammation, and Plasma Bile Acid Kinetics in a Rat Model: Implications for Translational Research

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, EarlyView.
Sprague‐Dawley rats were used to investigate postprandial metabolic and inflammatory responses following the consumption of an energy‐dense meal. Time‐resolved plasma and liver analyses revealed fluctuations in bile acid levels, particularly cholic acid, along with changes in metabolic intermediates, oxylipins, and inflammatory markers.

The transport and dynamic state of exogenous glycerol- and palmitic acid-labeled tripalmitin*

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1960
The radioactivities of the glycerol and fatty acid moieties of plasma, liver, and adipose tissue lipids were determined at intervals after the ingestion of glycerol- and palmitic acid-labeled tripalmitin by rats.

Effect of Nutraceutical Supplementation and Mediterranean Hypocaloric Diet on Calculated Steatosis Indices and Inflammation: Clinical and In Vitro Evidences

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, EarlyView.
This retrospective study evaluated the effects of nutraceutical supplementation (NS) and a Mediterranean hypocaloric diet (MHD) in NAFLD patients. Forty‐five overweight/obese subjects followed MHD with or without NS. After 3 months, only the MHD + NS group showed significant improvements in liver steatosis indices and inflammation.

Breast Milk Proteome: Changes in the Different Stages of Lactation and Impacts of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus and Body Mass Index

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, EarlyView.
We analyzed colostrum and breast milk from 47 mothers to see how proteins change over time and with maternal health. Colostrum had more immune proteins, while mature milk had proteins linked to growth support. Gestational diabetes and higher BMI altered the protein composition.

The dynamic course of spontaneous muscular contractions assessed using multiple‐point acquisition in diffusion‐weighted stimulated echo imaging

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose The temporal course of spontaneous mechanical activities of musculature (SMAMs) is investigated using a novel multiple‐point diffusion‐weighted stimulated echo imaging sequence (MP‐DW‐STE) with adapted spatial and temporal resolution. For this purpose, different sequence settings and measurement parameters are applied. Methods A single‐

Recipe for Hydrogels With Tunable Relaxation and Diffusion Properties for Use as MRI Test Materials

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To develop and evaluate a preparation protocol (recipe) for hydrogels with specific relaxation times and ADC values to be used as tissue‐like test materials for MRI experiments at 3 Tesla. Methods Gd‐DTPA, agarose, and soy lecithin were used as modulators for T1, T2, and ADC.
