Henry Trimen: Under‐appreciated pioneer in the typification of Linnaean plant names?
Abstract In 1887, Henry Trimen published a paper summarising the contents of the Hermann Herbarium, in what is now the Natural History Museum, London (BM), in terms of the plant names published by Linnaeus. Trimen referred to the Hermann specimens as types of Linnaeus's names.

Molecular phylogenetics clarifies generic boundaries of the papilionoid legume subtribe Clitoriinae
Abstract Clitoriinae is a morphologically distinctive and pantropically distributed subtribe within the legume tribe Phaseoleae (Leguminosae, Papilionoideae), yet its genus‐level taxonomic classification remains uncertain. This study presents the most comprehensive phylogenetic analysis of Clitoriinae to date, integrating plastid (matK/trnK) and ...

The liverwort genus Metzgeria (Jungermanniopsida) in Europe – An integrative taxonomic update
Abstract Species delimitation in liverworts, such as Metzgeria, is hampered by their limited morphology and hence morphologically determined specimens often turn out to belong to other taxa using molecular data. Metzgeria is a simple thalloid liverwort genus with over 100 species and a worldwide distribution. Seven species are listed to occur in Europe.

Revisiting the typification of Lippia riedeliana (Verbenaceae)
Abstract The present study revisits the previously selected lectotype for Lippia riedeliana, which was designated in a proposal to reject this name. According to our reinterpretation, this typification was based on non‐original material and, therefore, must be superseded. The holotype is at LE, and this specimen must be cited accordingly.

Revisiting the lectotype of Rhamnus micranthus (Rhamnaceae)
The lectotypes of Rhamnus micranthus, the basionym of Trema micrantha, proposed by Wijnands (1983), Howard (1988) and Jarvis (2007) are incomplete or incorrect. The source of the problem is discussed and a new lectotype is here designated.

Typification of Linnaean names in the genus Passiflora (Passifloraceae)
Abstract Between 1753 and 1771, Carl Linnaeus described and named 30 species of passionflowers (Passiflora, Passifloraceae). As was customary at the time, he did not explicitly cite herbarium specimens that could serve as types for these species. Beginning in 1926 through 2024, 18 of the 30 Linnaean species names were typified and 2 were found to be ...

Taxonomic notes on species of Passiflora subgenus Astrophea (Passifloraceae s.s.)
The subgenus Astrophea is one of the most critical and neglected subgenera of the genus Passiflora. Seven Brazilian species of P. subg. Astrophea were found to be in need of typification.

Typification of Heliotropium and Tournefortia (Heliotropiaceae) species described by Ruiz and Pavón
Lectotypes are designated here for 14 names proposed by Ruiz and Pavón in “Flora peruviana, et chilensis” (1799) that were either described or are currently recognized as members of the genera Heliotropium or Tournefortia (Heliotropiaceae): Heliotropium ...
